MMORPG.com and En Masse Entertainment have a second treat for TERA Tuesdays with another exciting lore story by R.K. MacPherson. Called "The Crucible", the story focuses on the coming-of-age rite of the Castanic race and, in particular, the young Castanic named Taelrithia. Read "The Crucible" and let us know what you think in the comments.

The Devs must be writing silly fan-fiction in their Journals. |

Doesn't matter, this game may very well be dead before it even launches. With competition such as GW2 and SWTOR, if they don't get off their asses and launch this thing soon, no one is going to care., No matter how many screenies you post. |

Yeah. I just dont care about this game. Besides the skimpy outfits on the female, it doesnt seem to have anything going for it. The westernizing or censoring thing is so retarded. |

The combat will be enough to pull me away from the generic auto targetting MMO's out there whether it will hold my attention we will see |

Originally posted by nomss Except you know, the whole this game is nothing like TOR kinda thing that throws people off. This game caters to a crowd that enjoys action MMORPG's. SWTOR caters to the story / star wars fan crowd. I don't think it will steal that many people at all. Considering I want this game and have no intentions of going anywhere near TOR |

People will play TERA, but it won't be as successful as TOR or the other games coming out. They've got their niche crowed and it may surprise us how successful it actually becomes. But they've been wise to wait on releasing this game over here. VERY wise, the game was barely ready for release in Asia, and then it started dropping off because they didn't have enough content for players to stay interested in a region where new shiney MMO's are released constantly.
I think these lore stories are to help keep people's attention on TERA to the best of their ability and make it sound more story centric than it may really be. Either way, we have to face the music that MMO players by majority want the RPG in their MMO, and future games are doing that. BHS and EM would be wise to look at that and make some considerations for their own title. Playing: Star Wars: The Old Republic Waiting For: Guild Wars 2, sort of. |

The same people that are still playing Aion will jump on the TERA train and that's the exact reason I won't be bothering with these piece of trash. Originally I was really excited about the game, but after going back and trying Aion a few times now it's dawned on me that the community that game has is terrible. If they aren't AFK jumping/bots, they're morons in region/trade, etc crying about a single player that everybody knows by name. Ganking, my guild is better than your guild, etc, etc.
Horrible. Just... Horrible. |

I think TERA's combat is far superior to SW:TOR's complete garbage. You fangirls for TOR need to realize some games are brave enough to try something different. |

Game is failing already in asian markets. And on top of that there censoring armors for the US/EU release, so yeah no buy from me. |

I'm so much confident that NC would have made so much more from this lineage 3 version, they really shouldn't have stolen the project. I mean at least NC would not have repeat the exact same error they made with L2, i'm pretty sure they wouldn't at least. But then again i'm not sure Anet would have get so much attention either if NC had to deliver L3 this year. And i definitly like so much more GW2 design that what would have been L3 even with fps combat as they planned back then, so i guess NC loose nothing but the right to work on this these past few years. |

This game dehyped itself for me. Just screenshot after screenshot. Do something He who keeps his cool best wins. |

Game looks good, just its timing... not very good. If this had come out last year, I'm sure I would have played the hell out of it. |

Not sure for NA, but for EU game is fail. 1st because of Frogster, no one wanna play their games, 2nd there are GW2 and SWTOR, 3rd TERA already fails in Korea. Longer time they waiting for release outside Korea, less and less players are interested. Even if it comes to EU, I believe they will make it F2P. ![]() |

Originally posted by Otakun Definately could be said for TOR as well. I've heard it is a lot like wow, kill 10 of these things. The only different thing is the story progression is said to be non generic. For all you know you will waste your money on TOR and be playing a pile of generic crap too. |

What you describe is not related to the game, but the poor coverage of it on this website. There is TONS of stuff about TERA to be found on the internet, including clips to no end, class reviews and whatnot. "Screenshot after screenshot" is only happening here, where instead of decent hands ons or feature reports all they come up with is 3 screens every few weeks. Part of the problem is also that an mmorpg not released in the US never gets any coverage here, as it does not exist for them. |
