Imperial Agent/Operative.

I'll be going juggernaut myself. But I really think this poll is no where near reflective of the community as a whole! Simply put, the list will stay similar, except you'll see a sh1t load more Sith Warriors/Jedi Guardians and Sith Inquisitors/Jedi Consulars!

I'm not sure really.

I know that it will probably be some sort of caster and that caster will probably be on the support/healing side of development.  I really like the Controller aspect of CoH characters.  So weak on it's own vs few mobs but instramental in groups and controlling large amounts of enemies.  

Sith Inquisitor for me, all the way. I always wanted to weild double red lightsaber. And show Darth Maul how it's supposed to be done with two lousy Jedi Knights.

Emperor had forseen that :-)

I'm thinking Bounty Hunter merc so far, healing-spec.

Although the Sith Warrior, Jedi Consular and Trooper are also very sexy. That gives me one of each starting world so I'll likely create 4 guys (or 1 guy which I delete all the time just so I can name em all Gobla...) and see which I like best.

Nope. This isn't SWG with the alpha class jedi. As far as I can see there are no "I Win" professions in this game, which is as it should be. I look forward to taking my bounty hunter and beating on the bratty kids who will undoubtably go jedi just for that reason.  The hate tells should be GLORIOUS. ;)

From what I've heard, Agent will be one of the hardest classes to play - which is good :)

Smuggler is 2nd highest? :O

I was going to play one for the gun slinger & to avoid what i thought everyone else would be rolling a jedi class. Still thorn over Smuggler or Consular, but if every one is running around as a gun slinging smuggler i'll probably just go jedi.

Wow.  I'm starting to think the classes will all be evenly distributed on launch.  It's good to see that Bioware was able to make each class appealing in some way.  I'm glad that it's not going to be just a bunch of Jedis and Sith Warriors.

this poll was a suprise for me too, but like some of you have said, the people on this site aren't exactly representative of the general gaming population.  I'm sure the hordes of lightsabers I pictured will be there in game lol.  What does suprise me is how popular the smuggler is.  I blame it on the video where the smuggler is voiced by bender from futurama ( not sure about that just sounds like it to me).

oh and yes my vote was smuggler, although I'm also a fan of the trooper class... I probably won't decide which to play first until I'm at character creation unless I actually get a beta invite.

I'm looking at Bounty Hunter with a powertech AC.  Then a Sith Inq. as an alt.

Whatever the most annoying class is, that's the one I'll play... annoyingly.

Glad to see smuggler owning on the republic front.

just for perspective, a similar poll on the offical forums has, with 8,963 total votes:  

12% Jedi knight (1084 votes)

12.9% consular (1158)

9.6% trooper (863)

9.7% smuggler (870)

12.9% sith warrior (1157)

17.9% inquisitor (1605)

12.3% bounty hunter (1105)

12.5% agent (1121)

so its a pretty good spread amoung the classes even amoung the offical forums users, although it does seem to confirm that the republic will likely be outnumbered by the sith.  Still no telling how that relates to the average non-forum user.

 Consular - Sage First.  I like the idea of someone who can heal, but isn't completely defenseless.

  Then probably a Smuggler - the more I'm seeing about 'cover' mechanics, the more I'm liking it.

  Then probably a Shadow (yeah - I like 'light' side :D)

Agent - I'll probably  go operative, even though I'd prefer sniper. But after watch the various gameplays esp. the pvp ones movement seems to be key and sniper seems kinda anti-movement. Will try it out first before I decide though.
