Its pretty much what gameloading said on this first repply.
.Hack was popular not because the mmorpg world where things took place, that was very bland and weak, it was nothing but a setting.
What mattered in .hack was the players behind the characters. The anime contrasted virtual vs reality very well, giving enphasis on the characters vivid colors, while removing the visual focus on the real players and their lives, while AT ALL THE TIME showing the players personalities, behaviours, fears, etc in a very steryotiped IN YOUR FACE way.
Its might impress people at the first time they see a link between the player's real life status and the contrast with his character status. "oh, the uber character is shared by 3 average high school girls" "oh! the scary pk is a twelve year old kid!" "oh, who would have wondered this community leader was in a deficient in a wheel chair" "oh! this character plays to condense the relationship issues with his son" "oh! the mischeavous mage is an anti-social girl"
After you watch .hack and notice it for what is is, there is nothing left that would JUSTIFY AN MMORPG. Now only if characters who died in the .hack mmorpg would also die in real life! :D See? Move on. |

a .hack mmo would be nice if all the classes from the game are available and if te game retains all of the appealing aspects of the series and an added bonus would be Xth form evolution quests for all the classes |

Originally posted by Gameloading Which shows you simply don't understand the anime or its MMORPG, "The World". I don't know whether the anime is too complex for you to comprehend, or what, but you're simply wrong to say that "all 'The World' is, is a random generic MMORPG from an anime with nothing interesting". Sorry, but you obviously just don't understand what the fans of the series do. |

While i enjoyed the anime ".Hack signs" I am not so sure the games are really for me. Anyone read "Sword art online" BTW? And the graphics of this game looked a bit dated to say the least. |

Originally posted by evicton Actually, yes the game is still being developed. They completely re-did the engine and everything. The alpha was just released. So maybe you could look before you speak. |

Originally posted by Gameloading I agree. Perhaps they are just looking for a feeling that the current games don't provide for them. |

Why did they have to go 3D. For every dimension you add to a project the number of applicable people you have goes down by a factor of 10. So asside from just nomral "online game", "persistance", and all those fun diddits you add another 10x multiplier to your art pipeline as well. Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent |
