Just Blizzard. Over the years they've done nothing but disappoint me. And it's not a matter of "they're greedy", I just find their products to be derivative and lazy. Even Cataclysm, the end of WoW for a lot of people, was the worst expansion for the game. Why would I not black list someone who no longer entertains me or even tries? no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Better question would be, who's remaining on my white list? Very few. |

Obviously Funcom has taken a big hit on this thread, still one cannot say that they did at least one thing right :) My list 1. Funcom - liars and scammers 2 . The company formerly known as Blizzard, now Activi$$$ion for their greed and for letting a marine biologist aka Idiotcrawler ruin what was once more than a game, but an awesome adventure for generations. |

Originally posted by zimboy69 No one is completely blacklisted for me as of yet but there are some who move themselves closer and closer with each new release here's my list. Cryptic:They are as on the last leg with me as one could possibly get I am to the point with this company where I am skeptical of even the free to play conversions for fear of buying from the cash shop and helping to support the garbage philosophy they seem to follow. The biggest problem with me must be the fact that I have been in a position to spend any money on games like CO or STO which should have always been free to play. Funcom:Horrible track record of mmorpg releases and that leaves me skeptical of them but I must admit that TSW is looking like it could be a good game nothing about it though could get me to actually help kick off another funcom mmorpg launch so at most I may be playing this game a month after release. Aventurine:Was pretty hyped for Darkfall until comments made by the companies lead made me realize not only was this game not made for me but that said company head made it appear as if players like myself may be what's wrong with the mmorpg industry as such many of the games staunchest supporters took this same stance only to at some point in time wish this game on some level appealed to carebears like me enough to not be the complete cluster it is right now. No one knows if the game is getting wiped to start over or what is going to happen. SOE:My first SOE game was SWG and while it was a very important experience in gaming for me the game was never all that it should have been. I have always been a bit bothered by the graphical style used by SOE on it's games but that can certainly take a back seat those small problems withstanding my biggest problem with them is with the careless treatment of it's customers from the silly statements about Jedi being unlockable in the early SWG to reckless statements claiming they always intended to take DCUO to a free to play format keeps me wondering how this company continues to operate with such foolish practices while under the umbrella of a company that usually does much better at handling it's other divisions. There are development houses I'm wary of but mostly for reasons not confirmed by my own experience with the game such as starvault but from what I've seen about them here not someone I would be quick to go into business with. |

There's no company on my blacklist, but SOE really screwed some of us over with SWG's NGE. I also found Funcom to be a very, very deceptive and dishonest company. But I would be willing to give anyone another chance if they came up with a quality product. |

None are blacklisted but some I treat according to their dubious nature. 1. SOE 2. NCsoft 3. PWI 4. EA
I am rare person who likes Funcom. Most other companies I am neutral towards. |

Funcom - burned by launches and undelivered promises to the point I doubt I will every try another of their games. If I do it wont be until 6-12 months after launch. Cryptic - Studio is happy being mediocre and producing uninspired games. No thanks. Mythic - Denial that there are serious problems with your game is a one way ticket to failtown as Warhammer online proved, they also proved they can take a longtime successfull IP and screw it up. It takes a special kind of talen to achieve both of these rare feats, a talent that is best avoided like the plague. |

SoE is more unpopular for their more distant past than their recent past, but I'm sure the recent stumbles have done nothing but cause their approval rating to plummet even further. I ALMOST feel sorry for SoE. President of The Marvelously Meowhead Fan Club |

NCSOFT,i have dealt with them just brutal.Frogster another bunch of lame ass gm's publishers and Codemasters i havn't got much respect for either. SOE is soon to follow, but i guess my beef is more in line with Smedley who couldn't care less about the customer. He would rather try his best to rip us off and make himself look good.Too bad for Smed as anything that comes out with cash shop i am not buying and that goes for any other developer/publisher as well. Funny thing is i don't like any Blizzard games, but i don't really hate Blizzard,i just feel they are an inept developer, that aims for the cheap side of development. I am losing interest very quickly in Sqaure Enix as well, this has been a downward spiral for about 3 years now. Hmm who else is out there...I guess nobody big that really has me pissed or that i really hate. I guess the reality is that i am not disheartened by a whole company,i mean none of us know all the people that work in these companies. My beef is with the few bigshots in charge, thjat really shoudln't be in charge of running these companies into the ground. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

I've got a feeling that most of the people here posting companies that they would "never" buy games from will still buy their games *if* they are good. |

I have several categories for gaming companies. the "Must check out", "Dubious and probably will not buy", "I will not play a game made by". For me BioWare falls into the "Must Check Out" category of gaming companies. Pretty much any game made by them I will at least try to get some playing time on. For the "Dubious and probably will not buy" I would list NCsoft. Customer service in the past has been so bad that I am now reluctant to play their games, even though I love City of Heroes. Blizzard falls into this list as well, but only because I have not liked their games, not because they did anything I deem wrong. The "I will not play a game made by" award goes to SOE though. Long history of putting out buggy and incomplete games. Poor customer service AND absolutely no concern for providing security for a customers personal information. This company is anathema in my home. "If half of what you tell me is a lie, how can I believe any of it?" |
