Bad release date not just for us the customers but for bioware's employees also. A week before xmas or after new years would have been a much better choice.
But this might be their plan, since not a lot of people will be on for 1-3 days perhaps they wont have server issues or to many people jumping on all at one time.
Im off that entire week for xmas/new years so im glad about that. Just hope i dont have to wait forever to get in due to their staged opening <--- goes by when you pre-ordered correct? If i read that right. |

I assume they feel the rollout will be painless enough to warrant a few people getting holiday pay to monitor and maintain the servers. I expect large stress tests in November and the early access (presuming 1 week or so) will give the servers/software a good live trial almost 1.5 weeks before most companies release the bulk of their employees for Christmas (23rd/24th). I didn't change my plans other than to say that now I plan to play SWToR as opposed to waiting for SWToR. Ha Ha.

I will be spending Christmas not playing TOR _but_ will be watching with interest to see if it launches smoothly and stays afloat financially. If so then I will try it out later on. This is nothing personal against TOR as it is standard procedure for me with all MMO's that I have played, WoW included. ![]() |

Gonna be on Holiday which is annoying because I never thought they would release a game at such a stupid time when games do not sell. I cannot moan though I will be on a great holiday and rather that than being stuck at home for two weeks anyways. |

Not me, no game is more important then spending time with family. i'll probably end up playing a few days after christmas then celebrate new years properly like we do every year then really get into the game in jan. Besides a good meal with the whole family on the day anything outside of that on Xmas really is a load of over the top nonsense. Biggest con ever Xmas to make money change hands, teaching the next gen to be over the top consumers and develop materialistic attitudes. |

You know, not all people are catholics and celebrate Christmas on 24-th or 25-th(don't know the correct date for the catholic Christmas), but there are Christians who celebrate it on the 7-th Jan and other religious and non-religious people and will have time to play the game.

So hard to decide on the one hand I could cancel my previous Christmas plans to play SWTOR or I could sit on the couch stuffing my face with mince pies whilst watching the great escape for the 5 millionth time or maybe mix it up a bit and watch another repeat of a shitty Morceambe and Wise christmas special from 1984 (and it wasn't funny when I saw it back then!). Maybe I'll have to cancel the fartathon after Christmass dinner to play SWTOR? What a tradgedy that would be! or maybe I'll have to miss watching the wooden horse or bridge over the river Kwai or listening to some fuckwit relative talk about lawn green bowling? My point is unless you're below the age of 21 Christmass has long lost it's attraction and having plans for Christmas means doing the same boring shit as last year (unless you're rich). Unfortunately many of us are too polite to cancel thier plans but in reality we'd all love to pick up the phone and tell friends X or relatives Y " I'm staying home alone and don't call me for another three months and tell everyone else to F*** OFF! ". I did that once and trust me it was worth it! " Bring me sunshine in your smile bring me laughter all a while MERRY CHRISTMAS AND SEE YOU IN SWTOR!

Not me, since swtor is bascally wow in space, been there done that to many times in mmo's this is just another crappy wow wannabe/clone to me, nothing exciting about it. I don't see why anyone gets excited over swtor to be honest, but i guess thats just me. I am gonna be smart and wait for a trial since from what I have seen it looks like it plays like wow, just with some voice acting for the quests. Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either: A. Proven right (if something bad happens) or B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens) Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime! |

The ONLY plan that has changed, is that I now plan to be playing some SW:TOR during the holidays.
To be honest though, besides a couple of parties and dinner at my house, I don't really have any major plans this year. We have a saying around here.
"Santa Claus is mighty poor this year." |

Who cancelled their Christmas plans? I'll tell ya who. SANTA! All of his reindeer, and about a quarter of his elves (most of the elves are diehard GW2 fans.) So good job there Bioware. When the children of the world come down to find thier trees barren of presents on Christmas morning because jolly old ST Nick just had to play one more damned game of Huttball, I hope you are proud of yourselves.
