Players come for the game, but they stay for the people- Most Devs have forgotten this. |

I think I still have the 45 days free thing to use on DCUO from all that botched security nonsense, the game might be worth me dusting off just before it goes F2P and using that as it isn't that bad for logging in once in a while for a quick bit 'o fun, just wasn't worth subbing to. All depends how CoX goes with it's F2P though as that game is one of my old time favourites. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. |

Warhammer Online will be F2P in 2012. I believe I saw an article title on this very site. Join the League For Gamers. |

Wish people would stop assuming Warhammer will go p2w its a pvp centric game so it wouldn't work, period. Anyway from what I've read DCUO should have been b2p (like Guild Wars) from the get go still can't believe Marvel let Soe ruin such a famous IP. Pull the plug and take back your license before Soe can do further damage with their model.

I think it says something about your game when discerning players wont pay for your product. |

I'll play it here and there again. It was fun. I just hated that space station thing. The layout of that place was a nightmare. |

Originally posted by Icewhite Being a long time fan of City of Heroes, I was moderately interested in seeing another Developers take on the "Super Hero Genre" until I saw SOE was the developer. Only looked at it two more times after that and wasn't interested either time. Last thing that killed my interest though was when a friend told me he max'd out in less than a month of casual playing. Thanks SOE for another botched game. "If half of what you tell me is a lie, how can I believe any of it?" |

Well Freemium is the wave of the future with regard to the payment model for MMOGs. Basically tiered like they are doing with DCUO with a cash shop. Done right it works very well. As long as there are enough a la carte options and no pay to win... I will definitely be playing when it goes F2P and hell I will probably drop some cash in the cash shop. It's not a bad game and the combat is hella fun. ------------------------- |

It was a great game, but ya, ultimately it was hard to justify a sub fee. It never quite felt like a meaty enough MMO experience for me to play as my "MMO". But as a F2P i will be happy to play it every now and then on my ps3! Good news!! |

Originally posted by GMan3 The fast leveling kinda makes sense when you consider what they were going for. SoE said they wanted DCUO to be a fun superhero game you could keep playing month after month. They didn't design it to be a traditional MMO with the normal grind. With this in mind, if they were able to pump out enough content each month to keep players with something new to do this might have worked. It was a fun game, I mean it had combat that you could do just for fun it wasn't all about the grind and rewards like most MMOs. |

Well empty bad game go F2P , so at beggining it will get flooded with new people , then they will start slowly leave. Hmm this will allow to get some extra bucks of the title for producer before it die finally. Nothing unexcpected and exciting. Notthing to see here imho. Move along. |

AoC ist even F2P it is just extended trial. And btw I bought Lotro 1 year ago vanila + MoM + Mirkwood, and i m playing end game raids and dungeons ( plus have 1500 TP) without spending a cent since then. |

Proof that all super hero mmo's are poorly planned? Maybe one day a game will go free to play futher their development process, instead of replacing the metaphorical sustenance that a game needs to maintain a profit. MAYBE, one day there will be a super hero mmo that creates a true action based combat system, with a core idea of balance and mortality, but then again that would kind of be an oxymoron... balance and super hero mmos... HA! |
