While there has been cases of 'shills' paid to sway the opinion of this forum's community, I'd doubt one is defending EA on this thread.

Mainly cause there is nothing to 'sway'.

The user accepted the agreement when the program was installed. Whether the user read the agreement or not is irrelevant.

If I don't read a contract and blindly sign it, that doesn't mean the contract is invalid.

Yeah I am not saying that there are shills in this topic. I agree propably there are not I was just commenting at Bigdaddyx who seem to discard that using a shill on internet forums is a practice that have been in use for a long time.

It is not consipracy theory - it is just normal if ethically bad service that you can order in most PR companies.

There were dozens of such cases that saw were uncovered. And it is used.

Anyone that was any basic 101 about PR know that it is just marketting strategy that is used on forums ,facebook ,etc

they may, but they also know what the people using their games have for a system, seems kind of helpful when you publish games for a living.

if you are on facebook and or google (and you probably are) lots more private details are sold off

Majority of all gaming companies have the same policies. Complaining like EA Origins is the only one at fault is a flawed argument. Lot of companies collect information on your network streaming data as well as your computer information. This is done for multiple reasons and as someone has said, this is done anonymously. Ignorantly spewing shit at the first thing you see is a waste of energy. Read the fine print carefully and don't jump the gun like your doing now, makes you look like a moron.

Yeah, and millions of people blog of their life.

Still, EA Origins suck because if I want to be private on the net I talk with you guys and stay away from FB (I actually do), but it is likely that I in the close future either I can play EA games on Origins or illegally cracked.

I think EA is peeing on their own foot.

I think it's because many years ago this would be unexpected and new. Privacy has gone away from the internet a long time ago. Just look at Facebook, the biggest rape to privacy in history, yet people love it. How can you expect ppl to be shocked about such things nowadays.

Personally i think it's wrong more and more companies try to know what, when and how i do things. I decided to stay away from FB, Twitter and all other social networks , i don't want others to know what i do.

Can someone explain me what facebook does exactly?

My friends nagged me until I had a facebook acount so they could add me, now I am there and do basically nothing.

Still curious, what does facebook do to breach my privacy?

Depends how much information you want to share about your private life with total strangers. But there are lots of things added to keep FB very close and private but you can never be too safe on internet.

You know what are the two worst parts about FB are?

A) It sucks everyone into it, i am still resisting but having everybody nagging me to join it because it's easier and all that shit doesn't help.

B) Even if you remain away from it it endangers your privacy. My brother once got hold of a video of me during a party because a friend put it on its FB , a friend of him saw it , showed to his sister who showed it to my brother. That's how bad it is. The only way to remain 100% safe is to not be apart of it and know NO ONE who is.

It just makes sharing information too easy for humanity's own good. It's evil and i for one would support any actions taken against it.

Anyway, how is the video sharing any diferent from youtube? If someone posts it and starts knocking it around the internet you'll eventually see it, facebook or not.

Well thing is Steam is has it optional and EA Origins has it mandatory. It is fundamental diffrence.

I am not saying Steam is good becasue it is not and I am avoid using Steam as well , but it seems EA Origins is worse.

Besides if someone else does something bad it DON'T make better if someone else do same bad thing.

If someone hit innocent person in a face does it make it less bad if I hot somebody in face as well?

Really sometimes , opinions here are like kindergarten arguments.

I am really stunned that people are alright with it. Just don't agree to it god ,what an lack of imagination lately people have...

Btw thanks OP for post I will surely post it on blog /forums.

No STEAM does not have it optional. VALVE can terminate your account without giving you any reason, SCAN your computer, OPENS PC vulnerabilities against TROJANS, both is the same rubbis, and generally cease to provide the servers for you to access without giving you any kind of compensation for the games you're allowed to play. That says their EULA. Customers allowed companies to make their own third party software, soon we will have more third party software then games.

You have to be pretty naive to believe that big companies don't hire hundreds of people to go spread the "good news" about their company and defend them anytime they can.

It's not a tin foil hat conspiracy, it's reality. Why WOULDN'T they? It's very cheap to hire someone, and defending a brand or promoting it via forums, reviews, or private messaging is not above a big company.

Think about it guys. Ignore the simple fact that there are companies and employees who earn a living doing this (including EA employees). Think about if you owned a business, and you saw revenue increases when you hired someone for pennies on the dollar, to go out and spread the word, defend the negative, and promote your product in a way that makes them appear as a normal user. Your sales increase more than it takes to pay this shill off, thus you continue to do it.

You don't have to be a conspiracy nut, but you certainly shouldn't be so naive that you think this doesn't happen. This forum alone has many who probably ARE paid to hang around here. You'll never find out though, unless you do a lot of research and are really good at finding them. In fact... one person can actually be several accounts with different IP addresses.

So you may be reading a thread in which someone is actually 5 people (4 supporters, and 1 troll, arguing with themselves to make the product look better.) How do I know this? Because I've done it before on OTHER forums.

We are talking in terms of this topic and not entire internet in general. It was really silly to jump on conclusion that since some refuse to agree to OP's point of view they are automatically EA shills.

Because there are no secrets with youtube. Everyone knows it's 100% public. FB gives a false sense of privacy. You may control who can look at your stuff but not who those show it to. Never did anything ever get in the hands of my bro but thx to FB it did. My friends didn't know that would happen, these videos were put to be only seen by buddies. In the past this could happens as well but required more efforts , the video would have had to be transferred and so on. Now it just became TOO easy for men's own good.
