Gotta say that this is one particular thing in GW2 i can say i don't like. I would rather have some colored capes or w/e than entirely colored armor. I don't even mind us having to accumulate glory points for better looking armor but auto-dye is first thing on my "dislike" list. I wonder what others think about it. Discuss. |

I think it's a very minor thing. And we won't have to worry about capes' colors clashing with the armors'. |

I really like it. I'm sure they'll find better iterations later on eventually, but I got an instant reminder of Halo, seeing PvP'ers dawning full red & blue. I think it's nice, personally.

If identifying your enemies is absolutely crucial as it is, I like it, just a quick glance and you know who is who.

I don't think its only a demo feature, probably we will see the auto-dye thing also with the realease. I don't particurally hate it, since gw2 isn't divided in factions like wow its the best and easyest method to tell apart your team mates from your enemies. |

Guildcolors should be an option for guilbased pvp groups. Next to i hope ther will also be a one cick option to switch between personal colors and guildcolors in PvE environments.

Yeah but notice that you cummulate glory points for better looking armor. What for would i need better armor if 90% of it is either red or blue? No fun in picking colors from dye system, no fun changing stuff based on 3 color areas per item etc. Now don't take it wrong but wow has no coloring and people still are perfectly aware of who is the enemy. My [at least for now] solution ? Let enemies see colored circle over the head of enemy the size of the head while it won't be visible to allies. So we can gasp at our armors and colours and if i see dude with blue circle over head i know he is enemy, dude without it is ally etc. I seriously hope they do something about that. I also dislike blue :P |

Just got A LOT better idea yet a lot simple.
Why not make only enemies appear colored to other team ? Say i am on the Red, i see myself and my allies normally but we see enemies Blue dyed? And they see themselves normally and us red dyed? Problem could rise if someone on purpose would make himelf entirely red an blue. But still a lot better than what it is now. |

PvP is about destroying the other players not looking good. I don't think they would use this in WvWvW anyways, get over it |

This is wrong and imo i think theres better ways to solve this problem, imagine a teams full of Necros all in Death shroud form how will they identify each other? maybe they can't use capes because of Charr's tails? :) |

Originally posted by wojtekpl Well yea, i ask you how can you not tell apart a human from a tauren and a gnome from an orc, plus in wow you have the bar thing over the head of the chars which tell you who is horde and who is alliance. The colored circle which you are referring to would ruin pvp, couse it'll make it easier to an enemy to spot you around the area if you have this flashy thing above your head so... no :p |

Considering you already have the same gear, same races, etc. on both sides the colour code is needed to distinguish between team Red and team Blue. In any good game you are supposed to see who is enemy and who is ally from far away, and the auto-dye helps a lot with it. That way you can see from the top of clocktower, whenever that guy around control point at Mansion is your team or enemy. Simple as that. Faction vs Factiion MMOs didn't need that because faction races looked different. You could see a difference between gnome and tauren from miles away. |

Originally posted by wojtekpl WoW has diferent races for each side, and Rated BG's where you can face the same race is a nightmare to see ppl from great distances, its just easy to have huge nameplates once you get closer, arena doesnt really count as you are quite aware who your teammates are and their positions, and if you dont then you shouldnt do arena at all. Also notice that in GW2 there are more skills that are action based, meaning you dont need a target to activate them, like you can be on your way to the elementalist in the back and go thro a warrior and just cleave him etc.
Its just nice to have colors like this overall, pvp is not about looking awesome anyway "I am not a robot. I am a unicorn." |

having in mind what I said earlier, I would not mind that if ppl dont find this enjoying for their gaming experience that they give you the option to turn the auto dye system of on your end, have in mind that oponents might have a slight advantage over you, but would be your own risk. "I am not a robot. I am a unicorn." |

I like the auto-dyeing. I think they can probably tweak it, but I like the concept and hope they keep it. It makes sense for competitve PVP. |

Like someone said, we shouldhave at least option to disable auto-dye on our end. Meaning everyne else but us see us as red/blue. I will be surprised if they don't do it.
EDIT: i haven't played wow since January [after 6 years you grow tired] and it totally slipped my mind races are different for purpose of recognition haha. |

PvP isn't about looking flashy, you should only worry about looking good when you stand in town or wait for your group to start a pull in a dungeon. I want them to keep it because it's about identifying your enemy instantly, having a red name above their head isn't enough sometimes, especially in close quarters. |
