This information about a possible appearance tab or whatever has been mentioned many times on the forum and they said it's "on the wall of crazy" a number of times for post release. But thanks for letting us know buddy. Your extremely late update was needed. |

It's enough that everyone of the same class has the same backstory and the same voice, at least let people dress different. I mean, I understand clones are a major part of Star Wars, but this is a bit overkill. "I’d rather work on something with great potential than on fulfilling a promise of mediocrity." |

Appearance tabs are not actually needed in SWTOR, once people understand how mods(equipemnt mods not software mods like in wow.) and equipment works. I bet once Bioware shows off this feature people will flip out because it is so cool. |

im no coder ... by any means .. but what is there to think about? if ($vanity_slot != NULL) load($vanity_item) else load($equipped_item); surely its not that easy .. but i'd be ashamed if I had to say it would take my crack coding team more than an hour or two to get it working. LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity. |

On the one hand, there’s the diversity of looks so achievement is visible, on the other, the mod system will allow players who wish to, adhere to an iconic look from level one to 50. Yes, you can totally look like Obiwan Kenobi, with the humble un-dyed linen garb and brown wool cloak look. Crafting will also allow players to change the color of their blaster blasts and light sabers. |

Originally posted by arieste I have played MMO's that had no appearance tab at all, and they played fine, without the argument that you're using here as if it makes 'clones' of player in SW. Personally I think it makes more sense to have no appearance tab and what you see is what they are wearing in combat, more realistic, but I can also see the other argument where realism is let go here and opted for convenience, where people can choose how they look without having to keep stats in mind. My preference is to no appearance tabs at all in an MMO, but if they're added, that's alright by me too. The ACTUAL size of MMORPG worlds: a comparison list between MMO's |

Don't neglect to mention the games that never needed an appearance tab, because they were built with that level of customization from day one. I think WoW's finally starting to realize that tiered armor for "trophy" value was a mistake. It explains why they were so reluctant for so many years to change it. Now I wonder if they'll ever give up on Enormous Shoulderpads. Too old for this, am I. |

this question has been adressed by Bioware long before Blizzard announced their upcomming version in 4.3 Its a highly requested feature (especially by RPers), nobody has really "stolen" the idea from anyone. |

Originally posted by Deewe First off, the polls do not mean a whole lot so I am sorry, but that is not much "proof". I will admit though that a lot of people want an appearance tab and while I am "meh" on it, I wouldn't fight against it either. Simply stated most people do not like the "discussion" on gaming forums and so avoid them entirely or will read them and never post. Second, I wanted some proof that WoW was behind this change. As for your two quotes . . . that's nothing new and still doesn't prove anything other than they want us to grind gear, which we already new from a long ways back. The second quote actually does prove MY point that BioWare wants to make their customers happy by making changes they like. Allowing someone to keep a set of armor and switch out the mods on it for better ones is a pretty neat idea. I can't personally think of any MMO that has done this before. So good on them. Originally posted by MMO.Maverick I agree with Mav in a way. What worries me though is the "Trooper in a Fishnet Suit" or the "Clown Jedi" that will be popping up if they are not careful what they allow people to wear. The Appearance tabs CAN be good, but they can be abused just as easily. "If half of what you tell me is a lie, how can I believe any of it?" |

Originally posted by GMan3 I wouldn't worry too much about it. When CoH first added the Boob Slider, there were 48DDD's as far as the eye can see, but it was a relatively short-lived phenomena. Aion had a brief period of "push the sliders to the limit" craziness too, but after a while players realize that you're not being unique or cool or maverick when everyone else had the same idea. Any "clownface" abuse will drop back off the map fairly quickly. Too old for this, am I. |

Cosmetics tabs and dye systems are the best thing that could of happened to the themepark sub-genre. It lets everyone be creative with their characters look in a game that used to have every class looking exactly the same at a certain level. Every game should be released with those systems. Originally posted by GMan3 Well, the 44C's are the default model (it is a comic book tradition, after all). The max slider looks more like two giant weather balloons trapped in spandex. Fishnets are kind of a comic book staple, too. On the other hand, have you ever seen fishnets in a star wars flick? Carrie Fisher's Cheesecake Armor was about as risque as it ever got. You may be jumping at shadows :) There was a theory at one point that you could inversely correlate a male gamer's age with the chest size he chose...heh. Too old for this, am I. |

I don't really see why an apperance tap is needed. I don't want to get into a fight with someone who looks like a Jedi Knight when they are really a JC.
This happened all the time in EQII I thought I was Fighting a ranger so I closed in only to find out it was a beserker. |

Originally posted by Happyguy83 This is just a silly arguement, in EQII when you target someone you can see what buffs they have and it tells you what class they are. Dont blame appearance tabs because you dont know how to pvp. |
