I know this is completely subjective, but I was wondering what the best server would be in regards to:

1) Having more English speaking players than Japanese (for ease of communication, of course - nothing racist)

2) Having an active community (I played on Figaro at launch and a few months after, but no one EVER talked and you could never get a response from anyone)

3) Has a very large population in comparison to other servers (ghost town servers suck!)

Anything else that you might be able to comment on the server you recommend would help greatly. I'm patching right now and have decided to restart to see all the changes.

Is this for EU or US playerbase?

As for EU, I am from the UK with gmt time. And find cornillia a nice and populated server with ots of enlish speaking linkshells.

As for answers in general chat, I dont think you get alot. Join some link shells and there wil be plenty of folks to talk to too.

I thinks its because ppl are so busy looking at there UI crafting or plotting the next destination :)

Also, it is US not EU.

It is the most active community in the game, more pick up groups, more ENG/JP interaction, more French/ENG interaction, more German/ENG interaction, more FFXI players (again, better community/players), less "elitism", good economy, and more new players than most (possibly any) servers.

I don't play on other servers, but from what I've heard of them it seems painfully obvious Selbina is clearly the best way to experience FFXIV right now if you are truly interested in the game.
