hi

i tried wow a while ago but never really got into it. i do however really like the death knight class idea of a knight that uses dark magic, so know i wonder if anyone know of a game with a similar class? it doesn't have to be a copy of it, just some melee class that uses dark magic and looks evil/dark. it have to be f2p since i am eagerly awaiting Guild wars 2 and don't want to put money into it now just to dump it when gw2 comes out ( it can however if needed have a buying fee but not a monthly subscription).

when i say that i am looking for a death knight looking class i don't mean a class that is exactly the same, i don't care about if the class was story wise corrupted or just wanted to become a dark knight. neither does it matter if the class uses frost or diseases like the death knights, for my part it can be fire or anything aslnong as it is afflicted with dark magic in some way. the game doesn't have to be a mmorpg like wow, rift or lotro but i want it to be my character so not any premade characters like thoose in LoL, Dota or HoN.

EQ, EQ2 and Vanguard both have "dark knight" like classes.  EQ/EQ2 has the Shadow Knight and Vanguard has the Dread Knight.

Vanguard and EQ both are P2P EQ2 is F2P with lots of limitations.  I'm not even sure if the Shadow Knight is playable in the free version.

I'm aware of that.  Its a specialized version with almost all the fun stuff locked down.

dread knights in Vanguard are a lot of fun to play from level 10 on. they are a bit harder at the lower level, but then they get their "shadow step" type ability and all that turns around. they are plate wearing and wield 2handers.

shadowknight in EQ2 is currently one of the classes considered best for soloing, though old schoolers will call it ezmode. ive enjoyed it. its more disease based i believe while Vanguard's is more dark magic based.

ive played both, enjoyed Vanguard's best, but EQ2's really isnt that bad at all tbh.
