Notice how he ignored that you pointed out that CoH has had a sidekicking system for quite some time. I guess they must've time travelled into the future and copied WoW. <childish, provocative and highly speculative banner about your favorite game goes here> |

Originally posted by MMOExposed Lol you really know your facts don't you. I guess that's why we have you posting your misinformation about things you don't research. Warcraft was orginally going to be a Warhammer game, however Games Workshop didn't end up giving Blizzard the okay, so they had to scrap it and come up with Warcraft. |

Originally posted by galphar Chuckle, Blizzard stole ideas from everyone. The only thing really innovative they ever did is file off the rough edges and throw away the straight-up bad ideas. Ever wonder why every game is a WoW clone? Because WoW is a clone of bits and pieces from 20 different games. |

Originally posted by cybersurfr I was there after a month or so after launch and I have never seen and played with a better community ever. However I do agree with you that I don't expect the sequel to be any different, I am damn right looking forward to it after having dealt with the WoW and LoL community for months and months. |

Dynamic Event system: 1. Fixes World of QueueCraft in about 5 seconds. World is dead so no reason to go into it. Pretty sure Rift is proving that if there is something to do outside of the city no matter what it is people do not just start afk'n for queue's.
WoW can and NEVER will do this or within 5 seconds you will start to see these threads again on the WoW general forums "my server is completely dead" or "my server is 95% horde and I can not do the dynamic content"
2. WvWvW sounds like Wintergrasp shared between 3 servers or something with ranking thrown in. I could see this happening.
3. Maybe the dying system for armor finally.
I see WoW stealing more from SWToR then anything honestly. It is just two different games and there is very little they can take from GW2 without admitting they screwed up. |

The lich king = witch king. Not typing why again. His master sauron =keljaden. Same lore copy pasted. The night elfs are different from high elf cause they don't support magic. Not explaining this again. Dwarf and Titan aka holy one in lotr

You're comparing GoBots to Transformers here, lad. Do you hold the belief that WAR ripped off WoW's visual aesthetic, too?) |

LoTR has nothing to do with warcraft, absolutely nothing. It is well known from ppl that were around in the 90's that Games Workshop was approach by Blizzard to use their warhammer IP, im sure Blizzard already had the game mostly done, and ready to accept the Warhammer IP, but GW backed out in the end and they scrapped it and made Warcraft IP. It makes sense that Warcraft looks like Warhammer, it was supposed to be Warhammer "I am not a robot. I am a unicorn." |

The arena was something that was on Blizzard's (still not fulfilled) list of things to add for a very long time before the game was even in beta, along with hero classes and siege weapons. In fact, one of the very first trailers shows what was supposed to be an arena battle. Most (if not all) of the new features in BC were most likely planned before WoW was even announced. People are really quick to scream about who copies who, but WoW was announced in 2001, only two years after EQ launched. Judging from the demos they showed during that announcement, the game had likely been in development for around two years already. I'm not saying this means nothing was copied (a lot was), but creating games and implementing features take such incredible amounts of time that copying things often just isn't feasible, and I can say with confidence that Blizzard did not get the idea of a battle arena from GW. (As though ArenaNet invented arenas.) "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." -Dr. Seuss |

LOL, yeah, Wow will try some dynamic events. Maybe they give something similar to the mists a go as well. Everquest 2 had 2 so called dynamic events in the last expansion, except that they are far from dynamic and could be called "scaled events" at best. But I don't see Wow replacing it's quests with DEs, just adding some in the next expansion. |

While it's pretty obvious that the way Blizzard approached humans fighting GREEN orcs (prior to Warhammer, orcs were usually gray or brown) is ripped off of Warhammer, anything post-Warcraft II isn't really copied from Warhammer. By that time, Warcraft was a well-enough established brand that they could start making things up instead of just taking them from elsewhere. Honestly, there aren't any similarities between the elves of Warcraft and the elves of Warhammer other than the fact that they're all elves. The concept of an undead invasion or a fallen hero FAR predates Warhammer. While we're on the subject of copying, though, let's look at a summary of Warcraft III's story. Arthas, a paladin-in-training, is young and eager, and apprenticed to Uther the Lightbringer, an experienced elder. Arthas, overcome with the desire to save the ones he swore to protect, betrays his mentor and goes looking for great, dark power. He faces off against the Lich King's right-hand man Mal'Ganis, defeats him, and is told by the Lich King himself to slay a now confused Mal'Ganis. No longer knowing where to turn, he becomes the Lich King's new right-hand, and serves him in conquering all of Lorderon. In the fight to defend the world, Uther faces off against his former apprentice, but is slain. Becoming the dark lord himself, he is eventually finally defeated and, with his helmet removed, repents his evil in his dying breath. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Blizzard wont need to copy anything for masses of people to play their new MMO. They'll be riding the "From makers of World of Warcraft" train. The ignorant people that actually think WoW is special probably think blizzard are geniuses. The only thing that sets them a part from other mmo devs is that they know how to market their MMOs and everyone seems to be ignoring that aspect. |
