I know not EVERYONE is rolling a force user but since the game IS star wars I suspect there will be a lot, if not for your main character than for an alt. 

Personally - Im rolling a JC - likely Shadow as there seems to be a ton of people rolling Sages. I think the storyline will be fantastic on the JC, but my biggest draw is my wife rolling Republic. Originally I wanted to be one of the Sith - but I was overruled :(

How about you guys? I guess Ill include a poll. List your reasoning as well - what made you pick the choice you did? 

I might try the Jedi Shadow as an alt, I'll likely try most classes though simply to see their stories.

Why not just roll a non force user, who will almost always be invariably more powerful than a light stick weilding characer

Either Sith Marauder or Sith Sorcerer. As much as I used to like the Jedi, the newer movies / games make the Jedi look like a bunch of idiots. Still don't get how people who are supposed to be so wise and powerful can fall for such obvious ploys. If they manage to have an actually decent story around the Jedi for this game, then I may reconsider.

That's actually a good point. I know a lot of players (myself included) are more interested in the bounty hunter / imperial agent classes than the force wielding ones.

For one, the non-force classes seem a little more complete, and it's also a nice change from the 100 or so jedi/sith based games that are already out.

As much as I enjoyed Jedi Knight / Kotor / Force Unleashed, I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy a fractured Force user. It just doesn't feel right being forced to either flail a light saber or spam force powers. I'm used to being able to use both at will, and juggle between how far I want to go with each. Kinda wish they did it like a talent tree, rather than pre-determined classes. 3 trees, 1 for lightsaber skill, support powers, and offensive force. Would've been nice to allow players to make a unique jedi character based on personal preference, rather than a set role.

all of the sith, and maybe a couple of the jedi, and the trooper with the  BFG

All of them eventually, as well as the non-force classes someday, but to start I'll be a Sith Inquisitor, probably following the Sorcerer path, but I also wanna see what Assassin offers before making a final decision.

I definitely prefer the dual-bladed lightsaber, and that is the Assassin path, so we'll see!

You are right - but we already have 90109102 different polls asking what class you plan to play. I didn't feel the need to create another one of those :)

Not everyone - but there sure will be a ton of glowsticks running around when the game releases. I may end up playing a Smuggler in the end - due to that high level of Jedi - but I wanted to use this post and thread to discuss the Force users' story, game play and what appeals to most out of the 8 AC's who will wield a lightsaber.

I'm used to these types of remarks on this forums... then you wonder why the mods crack down - it's because no one can post a thing without 20 haters chiming in with useless, non-constructive responses. Yes, I made the poll cause I was bored and we're still months away from the game... If people can write posts of loom and gloom and how the game will fail for the most stupid reason imaginable, I can't make one about force users without people getting their panties in a bunch. what a boring place it would be if everyone was of the same opinion... then the forum wouldnt need to exist at all..  having a differing opinion doesnt mean its incorrect, as often there are no 'right' answers, which is why one opinion is as good as another..  as difficult as that might be to accept sometimes

rather than saying this place is a cesspool of filth.. i would say its a place full of people who care a great deal about MMO's.. though after experiencing the SWG thing.. i will admit.. that sometimes.. its possible to care a bit too much about them

I was thinking a SI, prolly Assn spec.....but it seems everyone else is planning that, so maybe a Jugg.

The Jedi Guardian seems like the roll that would fit me best.And the Guardian roll fits my style well :D
