I was looking into this game again and having fun and was interested in possibly subbing again but the website says subscribers only get 60 funcom points per month, is that right?  Please dont tell me I have to pay a sub AND buy my own points for things like pets.  I was looking and a little dog pet thing is 550 points, at 60 points a month it would take me 10 months until I could buy a simple pet. 

Tell me its a typo and it is really 600 points a month and more in line with others like CO and LotRO

It says 60, and I don't even know if it is 60.

I subbed the first month after this and never got 60 funcom points.

However teleport scrolls are like 10 points, or something low, so at least you can get some use of out the 60 points (granted they give them to you at all)

full sub lets you have everything in the game you normally would, so 60 points is just a "bonus".

I know a dog pet drops in one of the instances. I think Crow's Nest if I'm not mistaken. You could also get it off the vendor for maybe 1 gold.

You don't need to spend funcom points to get that pet if you dont want to.

Yes. Basically. 60 monthly points cannot get you much.

There is also a discount for subs, I think it was 10% for subs in item store.

They are also looking at increasing that I think. But anyway, your not meant to earn FC points by playing. Playing is playing, and item store is buying stuff (fluff mostly) The 60 points are just a bonus gift.

You get more points if you sub for a long time, say a year. But if you're month to month you get the 60 points AFTER the month you paid for has ended. So you won't  even get those 60 point until 30 days.

you can buy or "loot" all the pets in the game, several from each region player town vendors (needs to be a sertain rank so find someone to get you into a higher rank town) and the others drop from mission/instances.

60 points a month is a laugh ..

should be at least 300 ..

I have a years sub till end of January 2012. I rarely do any dungeons and my main thing is faction grinding in Khitai. From what i understand if i was a FTP player i would get to do exactly what i do now ,but without paying a dime! With the difference of AA use? Is that something yuo can buy or is it only subscription?

THE MATH IS EASY !IT IS BASICLY LIKE THIS!the less population there is in a given game the more it cost to play it!insanity?you bet!but that is how it works out!and good luck trying to compare say wow cost vs eq2x cost etc cause corp tend do do things as different as the other game to make sure cost coant be quantified!after that they wonder why player get fed up and go back to wow!

 I don't think you get the zones past Gateway to Khitai if you go F2P. I could be wrong. The AA's help in Khitai especially the critigation AA.

That is correct Sevenwind. If Pupurun leaves the premium model I think this is the result:

- No Access to expansion (lvl 80)

- Locked out of severeal dungeons

- Restriced bank space

- Restriced money (max 2G) rest will be "hidden" until you sub again.

So IMO premium becomes very valid post lvl 40 (if you like solo dungeons in Gateway and group dungoens) Freemium is for people who play very little, or is not in a hurry to get somewhere ingame.

i calculated that to get the pvp set( 2 pvp purples and the rest pvp blues) offered for Funcom points it would cost about 40$.......lamo! what a rip off.

but hey it's cool that i dont have to pay it. i can get it all fro free as long as i have patience.

60 FC points is worth about $0.50.  Yes...50 cents.  Turbine gives subscribers/lifers 500 points a month...about $5.00 worth.

Oooooooh FC gives a 10% discount to subscribers...ROFLMAO.  Turbine lets you earn points just by playing.

Funcom is the greediest MMO developer I have ever run across.  I am not surprised that they offer nothing to their loyal subscribers except a useless amount of Funcom bucks.  And, as far as I can tell, although I have a subcription into 2012, I only received 60 funcom points.

As for Turbine, who some of the other posters mentioned, they exemplify how a developer should treat their customers.  Funcom could learn a lot from them.

How to make money in 1 month

1. Launch a new pvp server

2.  Allow players to buy high end pvp gear in the cash shop

3.  Send out a news release saying you doubled revenues

Next adventure pack will feature

1. A new dungeon full of demons that brreath fire

2. A cash shop that sells weapons that do double damage to demons and armor that reduces fire damage.

Not sure i agree with you.. at least about Funcom, while im not really a fan of F2P game cash shops, most of the ones i've seen have been far worse...
