I am a female gamer and started to play online games a while ago.

I have played conquer online for a long time and what appealed to me the most was that the world was small the number of players on a servers were small and by that everyone got to know each other and people would sit for hours together in a player vs player arena just chatting not fighting just goofing around.

I am looking for another game with a strong and friendly community were people actually socialize. now dont tell me i should go to secondlife and crap like that:) i do like to play the game kill mobs, fight other players, guild fights but in all the other games i have tried everyone is only busy with the game and barely anyone socializes.

so what i am looking for is:

- A small game world

- Not 10 thousands of players logged in on the same server.

- game server shouldnt have channels so the same character always plays on the same world when logged in.

-  open pvp, pk system (not a must but a big +)

- it does not matter if it costs money

- gfx style does not matter

games i have played/tried:

- Conquer online

- Perfect world

- Runescape

- Ether saga

- Darkfall

i hope someone could help me out

Hate to say it but maybe some games with PvP-RP servers would suit you?

The open pvp requirement limits what would otherwise be a request for most of the triple A titles out right now. I can't think of any straight open pvp games that fit the rest of the requirements. 

Ease up on that requirement though and a ton of mmo's fit the bill of the remaining requirements. 

WoW on an RP-PvP server.  You also could try EVE... it's not really small or friendly, but there's open PvP and you will get the most out of it if you socialize with people.

Hmmm... Sounds like you should try Mount and Blade. 

Lineage 2 sounds like the game for you. The only downfall is it's been around since 2003 or so. Most pvp is done at 80+, which can take 2-3 months of hardcore play to get to. They have made leveling easier recently, there are free expansions every 6-12 months. Soon they will release a HUGE overhaul that will essentially make it Lineage3.

thanks for the fast replies, in conquer online if someone familiar was online you would run into him every now and then but i start to think theres nothing like this game. I have checked out WoW but the community does not really appeal to me and the game is so big that youll cross someone once and never see them again in the world and that cross server stuff doesnt seem very appealing to me.

I will see if i can find more information about lineage 2 but isnt that game flooded with botters?

DAOC then I think is the best choice for you. Find a good guild right off the bat and make some friends to help you level up. You can't PVP in each realms' homelands, but there is a huge space you can. DAOC has the best PVP gameplay mechanics going at the moment. 

I wanted to sign up at the europe lineage 2 website trial but it tells me a message about them limiting trial accounts becouse they found many people using trial accounts for illegal actions? o.O

Lineage 2 if you're more serious about your games and Aion if you're a candy ass.

Both fit the bill and if your looking for a leveling partner in Lineage 2 talk to me, having someone to play it with is the only thing holding me back from playing another MMO.

Yeah, Lineage 2 is mostly for the hardcore. It has casual aspects to it now, but they aren't obvious. The game can be pretty boring if you don't read up on it, and just grind all day. Since a few updates ago, there are these daily instances called Kamaloka where you take a party in, and fight a boss. It gives you a full level and more until about 40. My 6x character gets 20-30% from a kamaloka.

When the game first started, it took 1+ months to get into the 20s. Now you can do that in a couple hours if you follow the newbie guide quests and get his buffs. There were a lot of bots in the beginning because of this, but recently NCSoft has cracked down on a lot of it. There is still RWT like there is in any game, but they keep to themselves.

It is open PvP everywhere, and you don't know what level or how much health your opponent has so it always got my adrenaline pumping! There are tons of high level events like sieges and olympiad that are insanely fun. Castle sieges and fortresses are only on weekends though. I quit playing when I got moved to a weekend shift at work because the game is no fun IMO without the pvp events.

There are PvE raid bosses throughout the entire world, anywhere from level 20 to 85 groups for them get assembled in a towns trade chat if I remember correctly. The world is fairly big, but as you get into the 50s and higher you will start running into the same people grinding on a daily basis.

StarQuest Online Small community... RP oriented... Choices you make in game make a difference in the world.

I'm going to reccomend Mortal Online

The continent may appear vast at first but once you know how to navigate it It isn't as big as when you first experience it.

1 world server, small population, with the exception of the griefers good community.

Open Pvp full loot.

Mortal online is a great game if you can get past the negatives. Due to it being developed by a small team, the polish is very rough and feel's like a beta game. However if you can look past that it is fun.

starquest world gfx are way to ugly:) and the video on their website had like 1 frame per second

If you want a small but excellent community with a lot of playstyle options, then I have two really good suggestions (the caveat is there is no PVP)

tbh i never really consider people's gender when in online games

have you tried fallen earth? The world isn't that small, but there are towns and the wasteland and you'll see a lot of people congregating in towns (cause there are not banks, auctions etc in many parts of the wastes).

It can be a very social game cause so much gear is crafted. Most really. And people work together on that.

PvP is only open in some areas. Note that almost the entire world is seamless, i.e. no zones, but you'll get a message across your screen when you get into a PvP area and they are sortof marked on the map.

Age of Conan probably isn't for you then OP.

Seriously though, check out Dark Age of Camelot, or World of Warcraft RP-PVP servers.

Isn't this topic title a little misleading?

It's not like OP's tastes are somehow representative of all females in general.

Wouldn't a more accurate title be 'Help me pick a game I would like?'

It's not like some of the qualifications in the original post were 'A game where they don't immediately boot women from the servers when they find out they're not a guy.'  I fail to see how this is anything other than 'Games I would like personally', rather than 'Finding games that are more friendly towards females'

edit:  I entered this topic expecting some meaningful discussion of issues on things like discrimination against females in games, but instead I enter a topic where the poster used the word 'female' to get more people to respond to her.  Sort of the exact opposite, really. :(
