But the REAL question is what is the usual procedure for using all the money they get from preorders? I guess it just goes towards EA's earnings for the fiscal year? And the SWTOR team might get to hang on to a few more teams and staff after it goes live? Expansion plans can be a bit more elaborate since they know it's going to sell? |

Originally posted by Furor Yeah, I saw them mention they would charge the account for the full amount in some cases and return it to what the preorder cost was. |

Originally posted by Swanea Yeah, they charged my debit card the full price then refunded all but the 5.00 preorder charge. I didn't have to call them over it or anything like that. It was all done the same day without any need for me to get involved. |

They already stated that there is more than 1 million CE and they are sold out. So yeah I mean 1 million CE, I can't imagine the regular edition sales.
*weeps* This game looks so horribad to an originals style SW fan. Sic Luceat Lux |

Originally posted by Siveria I'll answer this in red, rest is just bleh and throwing insults around so i'll leave it be. The red though that i'll answer with both my words and devs They have stated that you could install the game, run the patcher and play the game without ever touching origins. Origins is just a download port to download the game like say D2D is, you load it up, order the game, download the patcher, close origins and start up the patcher and nevere touch origins again. Or you can just bypass all that and buy it from amazon or a brick and morter store and install it from the CD. Dev post on the subject (edit: found a better one): No, you won't. Help me Bioware, your my only hope. Have questions, concerns, want info about The Old republic Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report. |

more than 10. write it down, you'll see!! LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity. |

Actually if u pre order from a brick and mortar store they are gonna give details on how those people can download the game for early acess. So u wont even have to use cd to install game as early acess means u will have it already. so if u dont wanna use origin u dont have to. |

Right now with no launch date only those more "hardcore" will preorder. Once the date is set, there will be a bunch more preorders (same effect occurs with FPS). So until a date is set, I predict around 700,000 or so. |

Looks like my poll ended up being crap.
Should kept going after a mil. I just honestly didn't anticipate THAT many people preordering so soon! I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release.
