I haven't played the game since it launched properly but i played it and thoroughly enjoyed it for around 8 months during the beta. It's kinda sad to see so many negative views on the game now as it really is quite fun.

 

On the subject of Leopards, i don't see the point in complaining about them as scouts. They were the tank we'd all jump into for some light hearted fun, destroying enemy arty, lighting everyone up for the rest of the team and annoying the hll outta the higher tier meds and heavies. Sure you get one shot sometimes but they were still fun to play.

Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

Considering this being mmorpg.com, I don't think there are that many whine-posts. Check out forum for any of the games listed here and you'll find plenty of posts predicting the doom of said game. Generally speaking you have 70% troll-style whine, 20% constructive criticism, and 10% positive remarks (what most whiners will write off as fanboyism).

There is a lot of things going on in this game in the background that they are not telling people about.

 

I think there are modifiers being added to teams before battles that make changes to the way the tanks perform overall. There are many examples but i will give you one I saw today.

 

Was an almost dead Pershing with very little life. A ISU152 with a BL10 (One of the best guns in the game) fires at the front of the Pershing and hit the front hull (we all saw it hit, and the shooter said he was aiming at lower front hull and saw it hit also, it left a scratch) straight on from about 20m away. This shot would have won the game but the shot bounced! There is no way that shot should have bounced from that range. The Pershing tank then finished the capture of the base and got to the flank of TD to avoid being shot again.

 

BL10 Penetration on average is 286mm but at that close range it is more. The pershing has 102mm front hull armor.

 

This is just one example of what goes on all the time.

 

I'm going to guess that the modifiers are being added to teams to help try and keep players all close to 50% win ratio. This takes skill out of the game and makes it a luck of the draw type of game play.

Have to agree with comicaze. Regardless of what you visually 'see' in the game, the random number generator rules all. Welcome to online gaming.

Also, in line with a post above, there are a lot of posts whining about this game. None of them really jive with my experience of actually playing the game. I've spent $0 and played many hours. The differences in how my matches play out has depended nearly 100% on how I play the game, not nearly as much on the game's mechanics. Although, it's not nearly as much fun to get killed by artillery 30 seconds after a match starts as it is to one shot/one kill people when they surprise you around the corner of a building.

If true, thats just a way for them to have people waste real life money (Gold ammo) and time by doing this. Higher level tanks cost over 1000 credits a shot not counting the gold ammo (real life $$$).

with all these hacks in this game, aimbots etc. not worth to spend money or something else. And the not found balance is on the other hand. A T1 tank can kill a t3 with one shot and can absorb a full hit (esp a t3 does round about 80 dmg + and a t1 tank has near 15 armor..). So maybe its in an Alpha version but not worth to play it.

But we have lots of people on the forums that have crazy things happening with guns bouncing shots off targets they never should have.

 

Anyways, I need to ask. Are you one of the Developers for this game or a payed shill? Overlord is that you on one of your many alt accounts? :P

haha, are you trolling me?  All page 21 does is talk about the different ammo types and the part you quoted is about how APCR rounds ""improves its chances of penetrating the target armor".  I see nothing about how every shot has a chance to not penetrate it's target. But we have lots of people on the forums that have crazy things happening with guns bouncing shots off targets they never should have.

"chances of penetrating" = "has a chance to not penetrate", in a logical sense, isn't it?

Was an almost dead Pershing with very little life. I'm going to guess that the modifiers are being added to teams to help try and keep players all close to 50% win ratio. This takes skill out of the game and makes it a luck of the draw type of game play.

Penetration is chance based, besides many other factors. It's discussed many times, no conspiracy here, dude. Next time use HE shells to reset capture guaranteed.

 Domesto brings up a good point here and you apparently lack an understanding in pen values. I personally have shown Overlord his mistakes and Bias. Exmaple, the game gives the russian guns a pen value at 90 degree reason is that how the russian tested their guns, not a problem there but if it penetrated 50% of the time not 100%  germans tested with sloped armor 30 degree off but looking and getting 100% but you do experience this in game.I provided you with some historuc data for you to understand that chances are not reveluant when in fact testing weapons system were made to do the job without chances. At 100m  a 88/71 should pen the side hull of an IS7 reason its 90 degree and only 150mm now if he was faced with the slope then chances being it may bounce but I hardly doubt that it should because of the velocity of the shell the 88/71 at 100 m should pen the slope armor of the IS7 since its only 150mm thick but you find that this doesnt happened often in game this is only a small example of Bias in this game. At this time theres no need to explain further.

I have also seen some bogus shot calls. Direct perpendicular shots from close range with no chance of missing (almost point blank). Hearing the shot hit. No damage. I have seen this multiple times in a row, in fact. No damage given. The stats don't line up with what the game is actually doing.
