I said this once before, but I really wanna play an engineer as one of my play throughs now when this game comes out.
P.S. does anyone have a link to a charr character creation video. I would like to see the charr character creation options in your looks. |

Awesome....really love the engineer! its versatility and randomness is super interesting, looks like a blast to play! As for the water content, Im still not 100% sold. |

He was obviously going to say "near future." If he were going to say "new," it would have been pronounced very differently. Not to mention that's a bizarre thing to say in July in any case. "Gamers will no longer buy the argument that every MMO requires a subscription fee to offset server and bandwidth costs. It's not true — you know it, and they know it." —Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet, 2007 |

I hope closed beta will be announced at gamescom or pax, and then it will begin sometime in the fall. Eric Flannum has very recently stated they were on track for beta this year, so i doubt it has been delayed. |

Would be interested to see the scale size of Quaggan compared to other races.. I think u/w content looks like it will be very effective for creating a strong sense of exploration: Scubber & mmos seem a good match (!). Txs for the vid OP, good site too. |

Originally posted by tank017 Agreed. I'm hoping they're still working on some of this, and I think part of it might be the world feels a bit sterile. With more people in it, that might help, also a lot of the fish seem to just be hanging out, if they swam around a bit more that might help. That aside, the engineer sounds like it will be a very fun class to play. The only things that kinda bugged me are how similar some of the gun skills look (would be nice to have a bit more different animations for these, especially the large blast that knocks him back). Also some of the skills like the net just kinda fly out and vanish, hopefully they are still working on that as well. Some physics (having the net bend / give over the enemy, and having it break / rip apart before it despawns) would go a long way to making it feel more natural. I know the game is still a ways off, but just some things I noticed in the video. |

This shows what a player can do in GW2 when they have an idea of what they are doing According to people in GW2 guru it was his first time but it seemed that he played before Like someone said, its a big jump from just showing to trying to be efficient http://comic-con.gamespot.com/live-cam-tour/live-cam-day-2/ The guy jumped in the fray at about 1:55 "Some of the less objective people tend to be close-minded though and basically disregard any possible shortcomings that gw2 could have." |

Originally posted by Justin83x I'm with you. I'd love to see that, too. Not at all interested in anytihng else, really. Though Tigerfeet's recent Pelt Watch gave me a good idea of the colours available, if not the patterns. I'll dig that out. Always happy to share with a fellow charr fan. (And they have a lot of customisation. Makes the human flesh tones look boring.)

Just finished watching that video. Oh my, the charr are simply magnificent. I love their animations and how heavy the male charr feel, and yet how agile they are despite that. They've really given their all to the charr animations and it shows. And the Engineer makes them even more so incredible. That was a real joy to watch. Loved the bit with the flamethrower, Sarizar's going to make good use of that, methinks. |

Originally posted by tank017 I think that if you want more fast paced frantic action the thief is the one for you. I do believe that as of the classes they have shown to date the engineer is the one that you will have to be improvising the most, so its fast in a different way ;) |

Originally posted by tank017 Definitely. Constantly toggling between 3 attunements to change your skillset = a lot of fun. It's that toggle component that I think will make GW2 combat interesting across all classes. They all seem capable of it to some extent (swapping weapons, etc.), we just haven't seen effective, fluid use of it yet for many classes (see the engineer video in tihe OP.) |
