I am sick of all these lame games with battlegrounds and queued battle systems. WoW was fun in the beginning with decient open pvp, but then the retards at blizz decided that 'battle grounds' was a great idea.... (fire that guy). Where is the adventure in today's games? EQ1 is still today the best game ever. I did not try Asherons Call or DaoC, but I heard great things. Why does it always seem that the first game versions are the best? Even First person Shoter games are like this. Medal of Honor Allied Assault is about ten years old and you can still login and play on over six hundred servers. Every FPS that has been made since, have been stupid realism type games that require no skill; or worse, they have made them mechanized with tanks, rocket launchers, call-in-strikes, and many other skilless tactics. I want another EQ1 where you explore a dangerous world and learn how to fight each encounter. I want to dungeon crawl and be scared for my life. I want to find a huge camp of goblins and and destroy them for exp and loot. I want shout "DING" in general chat and have it really mean somthing. I want to be able to explore the world and achieve my own goals without the need of help from friends or a huge guild. I do not want to quest to reach the lvl cap. I do not want to go pick twelve flowers, kill ten skellies, and dig-up some old farmers necklace for exp. I do not want to sit in front of an auction house, while my dungeon queue timer ticks down. I do not want to complete over five thousand pvp battle ground missions for the gloves of my pvp gear set. WTH are these game designers thinking? Bring back the adventure and skill. Lets make a game that uses strategy and skill. Lets make a game were it is accually dangerous to die deep in a dungeon. Stop trying to find ways for the community to 'better interact". Let grouping be an option, no Forced Grouping. Everquest was amazing with this. You could go out and solo, or group with friends for a Raid. A games community will work out its own system of interaction. I remeber EQ1 did not even have an auction house at first. So what did they do? The players simply chose an area in the game to broadcast in chat their items for sale. Im not saying action houses are a bad idea, im just saying that it was the players that figured it out. Stop trying to make games so easy and let the community do things on our own.

If you really meant to post this in LFG section, and if you are really looking for a game, then I'd suggest (as you mentioned) DAOC. But you have to find a **good** guild asap if you do! Let the vets teach you and get you caught up on all you need to know. The game has tons of skill requirements, if you can look past whatever shortcomings it may have that bother you. |

I wasn't sure if this post should be in here or not. I am looking for a good game. But I did rant a little I guess also so maybe it should have been in General area. I thought about DaoC but the game is very old and like you said, I would have to find a good guild and stuff. Plus I think the graphics are somwhat older and I would like to see a newer game with EQ1, DaoC type game play. Rimcy |

Hey, I didn't say no AH. I just used it as an example on how the games community figured out their own method without Dev's help. Anyway, I have not looked at ArchAge yet, I will take a look. Thank you for sugestions. and Dawntide 8) |
