"Nothing says combat instancing like cleavage, nipples, and leather" |
I had to share this. This is from Cracked.com which is a great site in general.
"Tens of millions of adults spend all their free time in fictional worlds that are full of more tedious work and assholes than most real-life jobs. Combining Internet anonymity with people who have absurd amounts of free time, massive multiplayer online role-playing Gamers (MMORPG)are a better guarantee of asshole-ry than a digestive system, and yield uglier results. But there are some spectacular douche bags who have put more work into screwing with strangers than should be humanly possible."
A witty saying proves nothing. |

From the article: "if there's one thing World of Warcraft players hate more than people who don't play, it's people who do play but not as much as them." That's a wonderfully cynical quote that is applicable to raiders and some other end game activitities in more than a few MMORPGs. |

best part of the article right here, "If MMORPG players were around when God said, "Let their be light" they'd have called the light gay, and plunged the universe back into darkness by squatting their nutsacks over it." The Brave Do Not Fear The Grave |

That was a fun read, but I honestly think the #7 Eve one should have been #2, I mean it took them a year in real time to pull that off. Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either: A. Proven right (if something bad happens) or B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens) Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime! |

Cracked, eh? You want to know funny? I tried to access that link to Cracked from a US Air Force Base network and it's blocked. Why? The sight contains violence. "I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." (First Lieutenant Clifton B. Cates, US Marine Corps, Soissons, 19 July 1918) |

The biggest dick move in the History of online gaming was the Star Wars Galaxies NGE. No single event has ever come close to inspiring more rage before or since. It is the type of life changing event that people will still talk about 50 years from now. |

NGE was pretty bad, no argument there. |

Originally posted by Warmaker Yeah, you see, the military is such a peaceful location, you cant possibly expect to be able to tolerate the same amount of violence there that is available to the general public... ... seriously, this is almost as funny as the article you missed this way. :-)) |

Didn't personally delete the previous thread, but it is now undeleted. http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/319751/The-7-biggest-dick-moves-in-MMORPGs.html Going to lock this one as a duplicate. Sorry for the confusion, guys. To give feedback on moderation, contact community@mmorpg.com |
