So, with about 10% effort, I cant seem to find whether its f2p or not. It sayd monthly fee n/a, but I just cant find a line that says its f2p. If it is f2p, then will it be cash shop ahoy and p2w instead? Cant stand cash shop games, so wondered whether to ignore this game or not. |

ArcheAge will be F2P game. Jake Song who is the developer/creator of the game and L1 and L2 said that ArcheAge will be F2P.

False. The model has not been anounced yet. They will either go with p2p or eve-like hybrid, they do not know yet, nothing has been announced on the payment system yet. # A GRIM, ODD, ARCANE SKY |

I love people that spout lies because they don't like a game. Jake Song has never said that AA will be F2P, and neither has anyone else with any authority. Sorry friend. You're wrong. Nobody knows yet, but I'm about 98% certain it's going to be P2P. A F2P model just can't work with the gameplay ArcheAge has. |

P2P is the most likely for ArcheAge. The features of this game won't comply very good with F2P-model and a cash-shop. If it somehow still goes the way of F2P then 50% of the people interested currently will drop the game from their list. |

I wouldn't mind if it were F2P or B2P with a vanity cash shop. Prefer P2P, but if they decide to do F2P they better think it out correctly. |

No revenue model has been announced yet for any territory. If it had been announced, you would have seen it in respectable news blogs. |

Why would they spend 6 years making the wow killer to then destroy the game by making in f2p? That makes no sense to me. |

pro tip: any time someone says "XX has stated YY to be the case" without actually showing the link , it is a lie, fabrication, or exxageration. Its easier to provide a link than retyping something someone else wrote.
Its a common ploy in MMO forums to "claim" the devs have said something that they absolutely never said. Ignore these trolls.

The tens of millions of dollars spent developing this game alone says to me it will be P2P. I've read that the budget range was somewhere between 30-60 million. Why would they spend that kind of money to introduce it as F2P? Because they just like us so much? Guild Wars is the exception from the norm, and from what I'm reading about GW2, i'd rather pay for a seamless MMO world than an heavily instanced glorified CORPG anyway. |
