It is FFA within the third continent where there will be territorial control etc. You do not have to vsit tthat continent unless you choose to.
The whole game is not FFA, but that play style is there if you choose it. |

I am not trusting the company, I am trusting my eyes.
I understand your fear here, investing another new game and being let down, but just take the time to go to AAportal and watch. These arnt BS CG movies or company edited 'play' vids... these are showing it how it is, and tbh those naval combat vids alone excited the hell out of me.
This dev has had the balls to not have a NDA in place in it's third CB, obviously because it is confident and sure enough of what they have. Think about that and what it means.
Let your fear go, it is keeping your mind closed ;) |

If Bill couldnt be bothered to log in more then once, and only get to L5, he should have given his slot to another member of their team or a guest writer who could and would.
What a waste of a beta slot :/ |

Ballista, you need to reread EVERYTHING about this game before you join in the conversation again, just for your own benefit, because everything you has said so far is false.
There are three continents, one is FFA PvP, the other two are not.
AA should be pretty much a PvE friendly game if you stay on the protected continents. *edited to correct that I shouldnt make future predictions as fact* |

And you are even more false. THIRD Continent is LAWLESS pvp. Players build stuff, set their own rules, live their own rules, kill and so on. Its like extreme and more advanced eve's nullsec.OCEAN is LAWLESS PVP. You can attack anyone and you can be attacked by anyone. ITs a dangerous journey similar to Eve's nullsec.two main continents depend on national policy and YOU STILL can kill people, BUT you get to deal with consequences like going to acourt and so on. IN FACT acting bad and evil gives you POINTS in Criminal/Pirate faction and eventually you get switched to that faction which is enemies-to-all type of faction and you are pretty much FORCED to live in lawless zones(as every player everywhere else can hunt you without increasing their criminal status and every npc in your country is enemy) but can do whatever you want there. I in fact foresee people who will ENJOY that kind of gameplay and live in ocean and lawless zones so they can be the badguys. The first few places where you are and where the whole quest-leads-you-forward stuff happens are with safety measures. Afterward it all depends on those policies. :) # A GRIM, ODD, ARCANE SKY |

I said the other two are not FFA PvP, and they are not. I spoke the truth.
I am fully confident that there will be enough protection on the two non FFA continents to make PvE play pretty headache free if it is desired.
This may be proved wrong as the game develops, if it is so be it, but thats what I believe from what I see right now. |

Saw interesting footage on youtube from SteparuTV who uploaded like 5-10 Vids a day! Unfortunatelly he just play the "cat"-race which I'm not a huge fan of. Maybe he or other people will play as regular humans in the near future and upload their impressinos aswell! So far I can say I am really impressed by it's looks and also by it's combat. Not that hugely impressed compared to the nearly perfect TERA-combat - but still it looks challenging. The only thing I do not like at the moment is that on most of the vast lanscapes, the terrain looks "a bit" empty. Not really abit - it looks empty. I got a commented on youtube people telling me that this is because housing is possible everywhere. Yes, okay but overall the terrain doesnt really look hand-crafted at all. More like automaticly generated.
We will see how it turns out...

Not just housing. Player villages with public buildings, warehouses, etc. Farmlands. Forests, vineyard-ish places, cattle growing places and so on. In a sense the game is more focused on creating a NATURAL world, where you are not put into theme-park-ish 'setting" of "there be farm, there be temple, there be forest". Literally EVERY server as it develops will look different from each other in one you might find a forest in the place, in other? Farm. In other? a village? in other god knows what else. and that IMO is among one of the best things this game offers. # A GRIM, ODD, ARCANE SKY |

First five levels and you think you saw some quality?? First 10 levels made me disappointed in the game, b/c it "only" looked like a very polished traditional mmorpg. After I got some friends and went to the ocean after building a ship with them, sailling around, experiencing the tactical depth needed to come out winning a naval battle, making assaults on towns of hostile factions, FFA, FvF, I was convinced this is "The Next Big Thing". |

From what I have been seeing this game is looking really good. Can't wait for the Western Version to come out, I hope it is not going to be too long now. |

But once the sandbox features heavily interact with your gameplay, you will be shocked at what great things this game is capable of. For me, I got confused many times during the CBT3, because I felt the game was better than UO for what UO is known for its greatness.... I am still confused if something has gotten wrong with me lol. |

@vesavius
Sorry to disappoint you but you're wrong. Reread what I wrote, on the current build after the level 20-25 area it turns to FFA on the "pve" continents in the current test build: basically the only true "safe" (no nonconsensual pvp) is the starter areas of the east and west continents. That's it. There may be changes by release (like some servers not offering FFA on all 3 servers) but as is that's how it is. |

Based on the article and the comments below this seems like a pretty interesting game. Currently Play: ? |

It sounds interesting but the exagerated asian art style often puts me off, I will keep an eye on it though if for nothing else than the crafting. |

My fear is that it is just themepark clone with a sandbox crafting layer over top. Seems to be the direction of developers these days (ie. Rift with dynamic content over boring clone base). If I heard the world was fantasmically huge I wouldn't have any doubts but hearing it is about the same size as vanilla Wow was makes me cringe. Still worth keeping an eye out for but I seriously need a good non-fantasy mmo one of these days and put all this over done fantasy crap behind me. |

This is going to be amazing... As an Ultima Online player grind dosnt worry me, id rather have fun grinding over walk here click accept walk here click finish quests. Something new MMOs, for some odd reason, embrace... I only hope combat isn"t as boring as new MMOs, pressing 1234567 and having to wait as the timer lets u attack again bores the hell out of me! Archeage seems the only MMO that deserves to be in my wallet, i am throughly excited to get my hands on this game, heres to hoping it delivers...

I've been waiting for this game for 15 years and its finally shaping up to fall into my hands, this game sounds pretty much like everything I want in an MMO and is at least 2 generations ahead of anything else being made. Guild Wars 2, Star Wars or whatever all looks like complete shite to me compared to this. |
