I sincerely hope it is. My perspective is just that with games like the witcher 2, Skyrim, TOR, LA Noire and GW2 all on the horizon. I just can't get excited about something like D3 at this point, especially if they release it at 60$.

Graphics are not that important. Moaning about graphics is stupid and childish imo. I often hear this:

"Game X has amazing gameplay but I will not play it because it has crappy graphics/cartoony graphics. I simply can't play this game"

This is just stupid. Also there is nothing wrong with D3 graphics.

Too many people complain about Blizzard all the time in every topic they possible can. As far as I know expressing negative comments about a game/company repeatedly in multiple threads is considered trolling according the Rules of Conduct.

I agree, graphics are meaningless. I was referring to the gameplay that I saw and nothing more.

game looks really, really, really poor from that video.

it's obviously a trick given the quote, and they'll have a cool trailer tomorrow. they're just playing with us. bizzard would never release something looking that horrible in 2011.

Complain all you want about how the game looks, but Blizzard isn't entitled to tailor make their games to your exact preferences and specifications. If you enjoyed the previous Diablo games, chances are you'll like this one too. If you're so held up on graphics... don't play.

They'll make the game they'll make, and if it sucks people won't play it. But there's literally nothing you can do or say to sway their decisions on art style or gameplay, so that makes any forum whining you do rather meaningless.

I disagree, part of what made the original games so fun was the atmosphere. From what i've seen, they have ripped that atmosphere out of Diablo III, and what we now have is WoW in an isometric view. Blizzard could care less about fans of the original two games, they want the WoW players.

That's all my opinion of course, as someone who enjoyed, and played the shit out of both Diablo I and II. Diablo II is still one of my all time favorite time killers.

As far as graphics go, if you enjoy them that's great. I have a preconceived idea on how they should look, and becuase of that I simply just do not like them. It's not the style I hate, had no problem with Mythos's or Torchlight's cartoony graphics, but then those games didn't have predecessors with a different art and atmospheric style. Simply put, in my opinion, this is not how Diablo III should look.

That last paragraph on graphics wasn't directed specifically towards you rygard49.

Yeah I can agree with Blizzard not really caring about the Blizzard North following. This game is first and foremost meant to attract WoW fans. From the art style to character class designs, these are all meant for WoW fans to salvate over.

As I said in another D3 thread, the dark and gothic theme of Diablo seems to be gone with this new iteration of the series. It looks more, I hate to say it, wowish. The gameplay itself looks the same so I imagine it will be fun to play for a mindless action rpg, but the aesthetics of the game are poor or at least not Diablo like.

When this game is released in 2017 i might be disappointed.(thats sarcasm for the masses right there)

It is a well known fact that all talent in blizzard left with blizzard north.

gameplay movie looks awful. you cant release anything looking like that.

the game looks much better in the older videos. must be some very unfinished stuff their showing here.

imo the graphics don't look worse in that teaser than the special effects in your average starwars movie ... would not call that terrible.  the aesthetics could be better, a bit too cartoony style to my taste (i also had that feeling when i watched the starwars movies lol) but oh well ... as long as the game itself is any good ...

guess i've seen far worse graphical aspects in the dos age but i only wish the average current games had an as solid gaming content as some of those 'classics' though... maybe i'm just getting old :p
