I see most people wanting to be a sith, and I think the jedi side will really suffer, but then again, I think that alot of the big pvpers will role jedi just so they can kill alot of easy sith targets.
what are your thoughts? |

Most people want to play sith is because they want to be "evil" which is retarded. in the end, i think it will differ between servers on how many on each side

Didn't the alliance outnumber the horde on man (most?) WoW servers? Don't the Elyos outnumber the Asmodians on the U.S. servers? my guess is switch them.
and for the record I'm going jedi. |

Yeah, in WOW the Horde got a big head start, though I think in later years it balanced out more. But since then games like Aion and Rift it seemed to be the forces of the light that generally had the larger population imbalances. As a lot of folks like to still play the "good guys" I think the edge may actually go to the Jedi. Pure population wise the Alliance will be favored. However, within the simple seperation of population there is the other distinction of PvPrs. Good guy sides tend to have higher over all populations due to the massive number of roleplayers and casual social gamers. PvPrs, which are more aggressive by nature, tend to favor the 'evil' races within almost any MMO. So no, there will be a truck load of Jedis, trust me. But when it comes to the battlegrounds and the PvP servers watch for a tsunami class tidalwave of Darth Maul clones. |

Yeah faction balance actually could become a serious issue for Swtor. Most of the polls I've seen on multiple sites were very Empire favored. If it ends up in people saying things like "Meh, nothing ever happens in world pvp, the Republic never puts up a fight" or "FFS waiting for 30 minutes in this queue already", then I'm rerolling republic for sure. p.s. Good thing you can still make evil choices and have a rotten alignment regardles of your faction though :) p.p.s. I wonder what Bioware has in mind to negate or prevent faction imbalance, if anything.

Well if anyone recalls the launch of warhammer online. The vast majority went destruction at first because they had all the "cool looking" classes. So what mythic did was make destuction classes suck at pvp, and made order classes walking death-machines. And within 1-2 weeks 50% rerolled order. Come to think of it, it was one of the largest factors that killed the game. Anyway, why mention that? Because while this game isn't completely pvp focused. It will be the entire endgame. And god help us all, mythic is helping make the game. I can only hope Bioware keeps them in cages, and away from any keyboards or planning boards for them to throw their poo at. PS: Please note, all statistics are rough estimations. JeroKane: In TSW your gear has NO stats whatsoever! But only via trinkets and talismans. Myself: Please, stop posting, I can't breath I'm laughing so hard at that statement. |

I always kind of thought that whatever side in an MMORPG that was good was where I found more of the kids and jerks. The Dark sides always seem to be a little more mature and little more organized in PVP even if it is a smaller group? Curious as to what other people think. I think about the difference between Midgaurd and Albion in DOC, or Clan and Omni in AO. I just kind of ran into the same thing on RIft and find myself on the difiant side after I got feed up with the attitude of the Gaurdian side on my server. I so want to be good.... |

The more you hype an upcoming game in your mind, the more it will fail to meet your expectations. |

I'd love to see how the force user / non-force user class split turns out... I have a feeling it will be something similar. |

It's hard to say for TOR. The only thing that is practically sure, is that there will be a large amount of force-users in comparison to "normal people", but the developers accounted for that. As for popularity, it's hard to say... Both Jedi and Sith are actually very much loved by fans. Jedi are a no-brainer, almost any SW fan wants to be one. Similarly however, the Sith are popular because of the evil&cool factor as well as still getting lightsabers and forcepowers. It's hard to say how it will turn out, but I think it will be more server specific than one faction really having the upper hand across the board. |

I am going to play Sith Inquisitor because BioWare stated that being a good Sith Inquisitor will be the hardest thing to do out of any good/evil class in game. Since they start more down the dark side path then that of the Sith Warrior and I wanna found out how to redem myself as a Sith Inquisitor though I will Still be Evil but I will Do good deeds to benifit the emp, And try to be the new Lord of Darkness trying to make the worlds a better place in my own vision. Rember there must always be a balance of Light & Dark less the Universe destroys it's self. Plus i just wanna see how the story turns out trying to play a Good Sith inquisitor. Force Lighting Rules! May the Force Be With You!
