So basically I'm in a pickle I'm sitting on three main MMORPG that I like in different ways.
1. Runes of Magic (it has housing, dungeons, mounts, crafting etc.) -Missing I love dungeon finder tools, finding groups can be a pain, but I joined a decent guild.
2. Rift (trials only played) -They now have a dungeon finder tool, no housing, has mounts, not sure about the state or future of this.
3. Conan (played a long time ago) -I have a decent character ready to go (so less grind), I love the mounts/areas, no dungeon tool, game state is hard to say most claim conan is gone, but it seems busier than ever. What I'm looking for, a MMORPG with housing, mounts, great to explore, not heavy on grind, I would like a dungeon tool system for finding groups but this can be a hit or miss. I also hate PVP in every sense. So out of the three any ideas, or suggestions? money is not a issue btw. |

Have you tried Lord of the Rings online?
It's free, so give it a go, if you like it don't waste money in the item shop, just subscribe for £8.99 a month and you get all quests/zones and a montly allowence of cash shop points which you'll only really be spending on exp boosts, as you get everything else for being a subscriber.
It has player housing, enough quests so you'll never have to grind, a massive world to explore, complicated combat systems (Yes, I'm looking at you Runekeepers/Wardens) or the more well known ones (every other class.) Oh, and a lack of PvP which you hate, there is something called player vs monster (PvM) thats when you reach level 10 you can create a monster class which you can then fight in certain areas against other players, but not many people do it from what I remember.
Doesn't have a dungeon finder tool though, but because its population is pretty high getting instances isn't hard.
When I read your post it screamed out Lord of the Rings online to me.
It wasn't my cuppa coffee, but it sounds like it will be yours.
Hope this helped. I don't mean to sound big headed... But I know Voldemort. |

I use to play it back in the day have a lifetime thing for it. but I find it to slow to level, and complex.
My main character was level 52 and had 2 full weeks of game time on it.
Might go back to it... |

I played ROM a bit well over a year ago; I cannot recomment it for anyone. |

So far I don't mind RoM at all, sure it costs a bit but any MMORPG does in the end either in subs or cash shop.
LOTRO is cash shop based, but I get a free amount of points per month since I have a lifetime sub.
I'm going to reroll in LOTRO and give it another try as they have done a few major revamps and the game does seem to be a bit fixed up. But LOTRO is not without issues is so freaken huge hard to get around, slow combat, and the leveling unlike what people say is slow as hell. I play LOTRO for a long long time and it would takes days to level up. Shurgs not sure what to do. |

Originally posted by warwon Yeah, Lotro has slow combat and slow leveling, but if you read the quests and follow the story it won't bother you much, the story is fantastic and the world is so huge and amazing.
And cos you're a lifetime sub the only thing you'll need to spend points on is probably exp boosts, because everything is already free for you as a lifetime sub, so leveling won't be too slow.
I just wish I could get past the slow combat, if it was a little faster I would love the game so much! I don't mean to sound big headed... But I know Voldemort. |

Oh, and btw, on the 16th of may Final Fantasy XI is releasing a deluxe package of the game, with every expansion and addon ever released.
I've never played the game, but I will be purchasing it on the 16th for £9.99, to give it a go, because I'm in a very similar boat to you needing a new MMO.
You should try it too if you haven't already, seems like a good game, that actually requires players to group up! Something I really like the sound of! I don't mean to sound big headed... But I know Voldemort. |
