I have been playing O&C since launch a litttle over two weeks. I think it is great for a mobile mmorpg. I have been leveling slow and have a hunter level 20, Monk and Mage level 10 and a Warrior just starting. Level cap is 60. You can only have 3 toons free and if you want a 4th it will cost you real money(cheap). One more thing it cost $6.99 to download not $5.99. There is a lot more to this game then you would think: pve, pvp, crafting(tailoring, leatherworker, blacksmith), mail, auction house, different level gear from common up to legendary. You pay $6.99 for the game downlaod and it includes 3 free months. After that you can pay $.99 1 month $1.99 3 months or $2.99 for 6 months. You can buy runes and gold for real money. You don't need either to play. Runes are used for vanity items like pets etc. You sort of need gold on the early levels but have plenty of gold once you get to a higher level. Warrior is tank or dps, Monk is healer or dps, Hunter is archer(WoW hunter without pet) or assasin(Rogue). Mage can ge fire or frost dps. You can combine spells from both class trees or go all one tree. Travel is buy scrolls or teleports. There is a offical forum and pod cast and they supposedly are working on updates. They have had minor updates to fix bugs. |

I also play the other main mobile mmorpg Pocket Legends. I do like both but O&C is a lot better IMO. There are 2-3 more mobile mmorpg's coming out this year. They do look good. One is Blackstar a scifi mmorpg and one is World of Midguard fantasy mmorpg's. They both look really good. |

How about trying to not be so aggressive? I have worked for Gameloft, which is a sister company of Ubisoft btw, in the past and they are not that bad. There is good people working there and they actually DO have their own artists. Sure they will make games similar to others but most companies do. Everyone copies everyone else. If a video has not done it before, a table top game has.
So please be a little respecful to companies that try to make games fun, especially when they have been around for as long as Gameloft. Novendar, Leader of Dominor Imperium |

I am not a fan of wow, but I would play this game just because of the portablility of the game. I just have to wait for the iphone 5, because i am not going to waste my upgrade on an iphone 4, and my iphone 3g wont run the game. Waiting for:ArcheAge |

Gameloft has come a long way since (I read recently) previously coming from a J2EE on mobiles previously. They take any game genre eg (FPS - Nova, Starfront - SC2 and MANY MORE!) and know what the public like to eat and therefore simply remake it with it should be said A LOT of polish. If anyone can polish a turd it's GL... Thanks for the review, O&C (youtube) is definetly a working persistent mmo on the mobile. It does need the higher end devices and also wi-fi atm (Android is due later). As said it's a wow clone and very fine one at that, so for me I will not play as not my style but impressed with it as it's fully MMORPG (crafting, quests, pking!, pets and tons of skills... probably the best mmobile I've seen to date. Pocket Legends is another very successful mmo but that is (as per GW) more coop mmog/dungeon crawler as per diablo with instanced dungeons. Still apples and oranges it plays over edge, 3G and wifi over many different device (low to high range) specs. Spacetime Studios will be releasing Blackstar in a month or two and this will be CORPG (as per GW) Sci-Fi mobile mmo (mmobile) with much more story and instanced levels. Here's a recent interview with MMORPGitalia. It should be INNOVATIVE more than IMITATION though it won't have the excellent persistent feel of O&C. Here's a list of other mmobiles |

I say who gives a painted cow turd if it's a WoW clone. I have been playing for about 2 weeks and think that it is amazing. Playing this game on the iPad has pretty much stopped me from playing my PC at all. It's not as in depth, but then again, I don't have a ton of time to play anyway. It's 99 cents per month to subscribe, although the first 3 months are free. I for one think it's a hell of an advancement over any other fantasy game I've played on the iPhone/iPad and I applaud Gameloft for putting something out that is fun to play. For fucks sake, I never understood all the WoW Clone horseshit. If it's fun, fucking play it. If it's not, dont. For me, this is fun. |

I found the combat mechanics (and talent tree) in O&C deep enough to have some fun. I played a mage up to L20 and i like it so far. Hands down the best 3D RPG on the iOS. It is probably as full feature as you will ever get. |

its just a minigame for mobile phones.. not really sure what all the hype is even about this. kind of surprised they didnt choose to launch it as an andriod app, given that there are more android devices than iphones.. even so.. kind of pointless anyway.. mobile phone games kind of got old with snake etc... |

Doesn't look like WoW at all...not even close. Not even the Night Elves, I mean elves, look anything close to WoW. "Censorship is never over for those who have experienced it. It is a brand on the imagination that affects the individual who has suffered it, forever." - Noam Chomsky |

Originally posted by Novendar ... did they remove your sense of humor while you were working there? :< ... I didn't say they made BAD games, nor did I ever say that being a WoW clone was a reason why you shouldn't play Order & Chaos. I also didn't say they didn't have good people working there, or that they don't have artists. (I mean, you need artists to replicate the style of other games, obviously. In fact, you need a pretty decent art team for that) I have a friend who is Chinese, but he is at least willing to admit that China specializes in shameless copying of things. Don't downplay Gameloft's ability to copy! Revel in it! Own it! Be like 'Yeah, we do the best copies in the business! Nobody else can give the feeling of (insert game name here) on a mobile system!" ... is it really disrespectful to be honest that a company is a little prone towards doing 'homages'? That's their gaming niche nowadays, and they're really good at it. Also, I'm not sure why people keep taking 'It's a WoW clone' as me telling them they shouldn't play the game. It's a mobile game experience, and thats its main value as an MMO. If you want to do mobile MMOing, it's probably your best choice. |

I would say it looks about the same actually. Interesting move, maybe trying to enlist some casual gamers into the MMO world. |

Gameloft is the king of imitation, not bit of original game design comes from them. However, if you can make a good mimic and do it in an interesting way (mobile platform), by all means do it and claim that part of the market. |

All the hype is due to the fantastic job they did incorporating an mmo interface into a smaller device. Besides, I play on iPad not a mobile phone. |

The thing that some ppl don't seem to understand it seems, in the review it's said the chars were "extremely Warcraft influenced" has in Warcraft: Humans vs Orcs, not necesserily WoW. Maybe some of you don't know the game but yes Warcraft did not begin in WoW it began has an RTS, whose races in the last version were Horde( most of the units were orcs), Undead, Aliance(humans & high elves) and the Night Elves. So don't assume that just because on a review someone mentions that a game is Warcraft influenced they are caling it a WoW clone. That's just being narrow minded. Also aside from that undead, elves and so many races that now appear has standard in most MMO's that didn't start on the Warcraft lore, it started from Tolkien stories (and before you ask: yes LoTR didn't start in the movies, the books from LoTR have been in bookstores for more time then some of you probably been born ) and other myths and tales. DnD pen&paper RP games were where most of these races became largely known. So if some company decides to "clone" a game, don't whine about it, that's because they think most of the traits of that game are really good and if hopefully because of that some day one of those companies does ends up with a game better then WoW, that'll only be good for us players. |

you are so right! I love all the people who started their MMO history with WoW and saying,'WoW was the first MMORPG and all the other MMOs are WoW clones!'. Hell even Star Wars: The Old Republic and Guild Wars 2 will be WoW clones for many idiots just because both are MMORPGs... by the way, I still have WarCraft: Orcs and Humans installed on my PC. :-)

Yeah but look at it! It's SO blatantly copied that it's completely unacceptable. If they're going to steal tried-and-true game mechanics that's one thing, but stealing character designs is BEYOND lazy. It's just plain disrespectful. |
