The guy obviously couldn't get past his own preferences: PVE. He even acts a little offended about Bioware adding battlegrounds to the game and putting much development time into the pvp side. Kind of unreasonable, that stance. To add insult to injury he got seriously stomped by picking a currently underpowered class which relies on cover points which weren't all there yet Lol karma. Sorry, but I can't appreciate his opinion on pvp so very much and much rather go with Mike's, who actually likes pvp. I can almost taste the tears: "The major issue for me is how awkwardly it fits into a game that was obviously intended to focus on PvE. In fact, it’s hard to avoid the feeling that anything that deviates from BioWare’s vision of a story-led MMO has been focus-tested into existence. They’re making a game that’s about Y, but their testers were expecting it to have X, like every other MMO. Instead of sticking to their guns and saying, “Actually, we think you’re going to love Y if you stay with it,” what we’re getting instead is all the potential of Y interrupted by the inevitability of X. An attempt to keep everyone happy. That said, we saw a tiny fraction of the PvP – just one area, repeated four frustrating times. We were told of one other Warzone, The Voidstar. In this a prototype stealth ship has recently been rediscovered. Each side is trying to capture the tech, with one side attacking as the other defends, and then switching sides at the level’s midpoint. And I certainly didn’t see it in its best light. In my time playing this section I was thinking, “I’d really like to get back on with playing the game now please,” which remains my positive message. I really wanted to carry on playing the game. Just not this PvP diversion that felt like it belonged somewhere else, in a game that wasn’t about delivering smart story and witty content. |

The level of fail in video game journalists is mind-boggling sometimes. That site's editor must be lacking (or maybe they just don't have one) to allow a PVP review to be posted by a guy that clearly doesn't like, or understand, PVP. His initial disclaimer aside, reading his responses to the user comments suggests that he seems to think PVP should play exactly like PVE. That reply about "I can't user cover because someone will just walk around!" is all he needed to say to murder his credibility, it should have been stuck at the beginning of the article. Seriously, most games that employ skill trees usually have one or two paths within the tree clearly designed for PVP, and another one or two clearly designed for PVE. I'm sure this one is no different. I always wondered how players like this have trouble figuring out themepark-based PVP, it isn't quantum mechanics. |

The guy is obviously a PvE queen. All good and shiny when facing AI scripted opponents, sucking when forced to face a human who thinks and reacts. I enjoy making these players lifes miserable in WoW, when they show up in Tol Barad for their dailies. |

If it contains the words video and game, it must be a WOW clone. |

THis article seems to basically say, I hate PVP, so let me write about how much I hate it, as well as don't understand it. As for this complaint regarding the cover system, if tanks can tank, which it seems as if there is more than one type of tank. Shouldn't an operative or spy use them as an advantage in group pvp? I've seen that complaint more than once now, while they praise the tactical nature of pvp, did they totally forget to use tactics when using the cover that was available? As in keep your distance from the battle line. For every minute you are angry , you lose 60 seconds of happiness."-Emerson If you can't argue the point don't say anything at all. |
