Now I say this because of many things I state in my video covering this games multiplayer. The multiplayer is just to different and it plays slower compared to other FPS games out right now. Now I know that this games a third person game, but thats besides the point. You got to addapt and make the game faster pased. Personally I think the multiplayer experience is solid... but I see it dieing really fast.
Looking forward to the story though, for more info on the multiplayer check out my video!

I will just preface in that I didn't watch the whole thing. I don't know if it's this machine (work station), but the framerate on the video is very choppy making it hard to follow what's actually going on in the screen. Additionally, it seems this was your first GoW game, which is cool. For my tastes, you mentioned CoD a bit too much (too different of shooters) but I suppose if your audience are people who've never touched GoW before they may appreciate the comparisons (though I definitely did not) - and from what I heard, that definitely seems to be your audience. The GoW mp won't die. It's not as big (or ever will be, imo) as CoD's, but it won't go away. GoW mp is quite different than most shooters on the Xbox, so the people who like the tps and pace of the game will continue to love it. On the note, GoW always had team deathmatch and regular deathmatch. I don't play it enough to remember if GoW2's had a shared respawn pool, but there's always been some variant of those basic types. I'd also like to say I only own GoW for the PC (the first, terrible buggy ported one) and don't own a 360. Though I play it (and 2) enough on my brother-in-law's 360. Definitely look into fixing the framerate issue before trying to make a second episode, though. |

If you're going to stick it out there, don't be afraid if you get it cut off. |

I've been playing the beta for about a week now and by far find the MP more polished and fun already then GOW one and two. I also really enjoy the franchise and campaign, but the MP for GOW has always been the reason people buy this game. I understand what you are saying, but I disagree. I think the speed is perfect for a third person tactical shooter. I anticipate it doing very well even though it is releasing during a very competitive time for games. |
Originally posted by Kaijin2k3 I just watched the vid again to make sure about the Frame loss issue... and it wasnt my Xbox doing that it was my PVR or render settings... I will be doing a 1 Hour Of Gaming episode of this game in a couple days and I hope to fix that issue. Thanks very much for pointing that out though.
Also this isnt my first GoW game... ive played both games but I have played many other shooters as well. Crysis 2 being my fav right now and Halo being my second fav. I do want to make a note im a fan of the gears series for story, but this is the first ive ever touched multiplayer and its like I said. If I took the time the game might grow on me, but since I have other games I need to bang out footage of I cannot dedicate the time.
I still think the game will die though... just because first day of the beta it took me well over 10 min to find a TDM... and about 3 min on average after the first time. I think overall the game is good, but I dont see many switching from what they are use to, to a TPS that isnt as fast pased imo.
Thanks much for the crits, I am looking to here more in the later months! Zach Sharpes |
