I didnt like facebook at first because it was just another stupid "friend" system that i dont use, just like email and aim, yahoo, icq, all that. Then i started "liking" my video games, upcoming video games, video game companies and all the stuff that i enjoy and its made facebook a very cool place for me to check daily. Its also introduced and brought up new gamers, the fact that you can play these simple games made it easier for anybody to start playing video games and i dunno about you but i personally believe it has pushed towards a major change in the gaming community by bringing a much bigger player base together. People that would never have played a video game in their life are now simply because theyre so easy and casual. Anyways facebook is just something youll either join now or you will later, its not going away and neither are browser games. :p |

I remember people would argue that mmos need to have a persistent world to play in. Do any of these games on facebook have a persistent world ? I'm just saying. I have no isues with gaming on facebook but only if it is done right. |

My mother in law is the same. She wont use the internet because of its "evil" influence on us. I have tried explaining to her that you can simply use it as a tool but nothing will convince her. |

I use facebook for another avenue of game information and interactivity of more serious games I play, but not actually playing games. I did enjoy some Bejeweled blitz at my last job, but my current job keeps me too busy to bother with facebook during the day. I just can't take Facebook games seriously and probably never will.

The data integrity problem that facebook has and the fact of how many of the links for facebook games have mal-ware, and virus, and yes even key loggers. Sorry I might use facebook to network with fiends but never again will I allow there apps and games on my computer again. |

I'm all in for it if it brings more people to the real mmorpgs all of us are playing. Touching one? Never. I deleted my facebook account after not entering it for 4 years straight not long ago to not even have one. "Only in quiet waters do things mirror themselves undistorted. |

This. Whether it's true or not, I suspect it. After having 2 game accounts hacked, and my last computer ruined by a virus, I am never using FB again. I have no proof they were the culprit but the timing was questionable, and why risk it? I am much more careful of what I click and where I go on the net these days. |

Originally posted by EQ2Thanos Same here. But it wasn't the games stuff but the inane, daily crap everyone wanted to send me as if every stupid little thing that happens in their lives is somehow important to me. Facebook is a navel gazers paradise and a twisted byproduct of a self-absorbed generation. Don't even get me started on Twitter... As to the topic, yes, they are (can be) true MMOs, but not ones I would ever consider playing. Not just because FB is the platform but because they look to be souless, gutless constructs, and about as involving as online tic-tac-toe (Xtreme version). |

Lots of websites and more traditional MMOs use the newfangled FaceBook auto-register.. Who says your FB page has to be for real? Make one for the imaginary friend you had when you were a kid! The worst part of most of the FaceBook "MMO"s is the stamina system. Every action costs energy and you only get a certain allotment per day, with the option to pay cash for more time. That's a sneaky way to get people hooked. It's disturbing to see it creeping into more conventional MMORPGs. Atleast games that charge per month are up front about it. |
