Yea the hype meter is anoying me right now,

Generic fantasy korean grinder, yay for ill informed noobs.

Generic? Hardly, you can count the games with free form housing, ship battles, mounted combat,sieges, castle building, teraforming, realtime crops and trees - on one hand, well one finger really.

Grinder? We don't full know yet, might be, might not be, its been said its a stereotype they want to avoid, city building and pvp on the third continent sound more like the end game "grind" to me.

Korean? yea, you got me there its made by a korean..

Fantasy? Again, there are elves, run for them hills.

My fears are Free to play, freemium, pay to win, all that jazz, A game like this needs a steady revenue, especially the cash that went into the cryengine 3, you gota make sure you got a stable plan to get that cash back.

Its releasing in china, south korea, most of the eastern gaming markets, and in the west, europe, america. Its going to be huge I recon. A good pay to play model would keep a great deal more people on it. F2P games tend to be more fleeting as well, people jump about them so much more, a game with long term investment like archeage such as property and sieges and ship battles isn't something you put down after 3 months, again pay to play suits it so much better.

I think its the time factor between game development and release. The game looks interesting, but what game hasn't when in delvelopment. How the game will actually play once released will be the determining factor whether or not you want to play it

Now thats silly. Please refrain from such accusations. We all know that the Asian audience has a different view on level progression than we westerners do. They admit it themselves that they like the grind. And thats perfectly fine. What SpandexDroid said was just stating the Facts. This mmo will be catored for an asian audience thus it will have grind we would call tedious.

I completely agree.  And I'm not asian.

I'm sorry but it seems like the majority of people that are bashing this game aren't informing themselves very well. Unless you don't like the graphics, which is silly to me, but to each their own(what games do you like the graphics of?). To the others that are saying this game is a grind. Where have you found information on how the leveling is in this game? I want to know myself so post a link please. Or is it that you are just assuming that's going to be the case because it's an asian game?

My god I'm so sick of the assumptions about any game coming out. If it's a western game do I assume that's its going to be a bread crumb following easymode game following every  "!" to "!" until I leisurely get max level? No, Not until that information is available. Like up until a month or so before rift was released I found this out then I decided I wouldn't bother before then I didn't know so I didn't assume it would be like that.

So before you jump to wild assumptions about a game and have no information to back your said assumptions. Now if we find out later that this is how leveling is going to be, cool then your opinion is valid but at this point it's really not.

So what your saying Laughing-man is that if a person doesn't like Nike shoes it must be because they were made by Indians. If a person doesn't like the way the shirt they just bought was made it's because it was made by the Chinese.

I can't stand this whole racism domination thing. SpandexDroid simply made a statement of how asian MMOs typically come off as grind fests and you gotta turn it racial. Asia was a pretty big place last I checked full of many diverse colored people.

A game made from a region doesn't determine a person's racial preference nor does it define them as a racist if they prefer not to play games from that place. It means they have preconceived notions of how games from that area will most likely play. I also didn't notice any examples of how asian games differ from SpandexDroid's opinion. All that was pointed out was a reference to race.

If I don't like Western MMOs cause they are buggy and often unfinished or without a good bit of lore. Does that mean I don't like white people?

Next thing I'll be hearing is if you don't like wearing black then you don't like people associated with that color. People who search for reasons to bring up racism are often filled with just as much hate as the racists themselves. Only because they look for any reason to bring it up.

On the end point. Who cares if he is racist or not which I don't think he is. Does his being racist or not effect your game in any way shape or form?

You can dislike a person's country without hating on a person for their color. A lot of people hate America and we don't only have white people here (but when someone thinks American they think white for the most part). Just as Asia doesn't have only what is considered asians.

On subject: I like some of the aspects of this game, and as most if they have a free trial or something I will give it a shot. Even though I am not a hardcore fan of grind either. Why I would not want to play it would be mainly if it falls under common concept of tried and true methods of play. Go here go there kill this kill that with no alternate options of stuff to do. Ship combat sounds good. =)

It's not the tab targeting that bothers me, tab targeting is fine when your attacks can be evaded through the movement of the enemy and not because some endless list of numbers SAYS SO.

 Please give me your source that says this is pay to win asian grinder with no Lore? None of the information I have seen about this game makes me think that's how it will be. I really don't get it. People make these broad assumptions without any basis other then it's made by a Korean Developer. Other then that fact where are you getting your information? Not once has anyone been able to answer me.

Because honestly at first I was very skeptical, I am of any game, but the more I learn the more I think this game is exactly what I've been looking for. So I challenge you Sudo and Mokwee prove me wrong, post a link with info that says this game will be a item shop pay to win game, is a massive grind, and has a lack of lore. Cause I can't find it anywhere.

ArchAge has an claimed to have an interesting number of gameplay mechanics.

What I do not like about it, is that it will probably shard the popluation across different servers, I would rather the one single world (like EVE).

Personally I am not fond of asian girl/managa style graphics.

These are the only down sides from my point of view.

To be completely honest, I wish every game was like EVE in that way. Having everyone able to be on one gigantic server is freaking amazing. I don't see it being very possible in fantasy style games though. At least in the near future. Unless it's setup like GW but then it's not a seemless world.

I get what you're saying and I too enjoy a game that lets me aim freely. But I also enjoy other games that have other forms of combat because the sum of all parts of those games manages to entertain me.

I'm hoping more people will keep an open mind about it.
