You shouldn't have to pay a monthly sub to grind. I want my 3 months sub refunded. All updates are just new things to grind. Pointless. |

I found the new Penguin mission (and the pengbot in particular) a lot easier when I switched my role to dps, the thing dropped faster than I had thought... lol maybe I'm just good at dps... This is not a game. |

With all the layoffs there is no way DC will be doing note worthy updates every six weeks (this one was already in the pipe) You only get one chance to make a first impression. DC blew it. |

Let’s forget about the fact that this Update took longer than normal to come out and thus completely missed St. Pat’s. I can understand that DCUO’s overly-ambitious monthly updates are now coming roughly every six weeks instead. It’s still a quick turnaround all things considered. And each update seems like a healthy dose of additional content in between the team’s larger planned “Publishes” which are slated (I believe) to come every three months or so. But here’s the biggest problem facing DCUO right now. It’s not PvP cheaters. It’s not a lack of content. It’s not even the UI. The social UI has been given a decent overhaul and is much more readily usable now. The League interface looks and functions better, and location-sensitive VOIP is pretty cool in PvP too. In fact the whole UI is more responsive and polished. The game as a product is just better now than it was at launch. . I have 2 questions for you Bill.
1) When was the last time you heard SOE talk about the "larger" publishes and when those could be expected to hit the servers? I ask this, because there is a lot of talk from players suspecting there is some big Green Lantern content coming due to the movie, but all I ever see is players speculating about bigger content patches. Perhaps there are comments from the devs since beta, but I don't recall seeing any more commitments to the larger patches from soe since before the games release. Considering the way they talk about how difficult it is to do the small updates it begs the question of what they can achieve when aiming higher.
2) You say the biggest problem for DCU is the lack of players. DCU used to have lots of players, so how do you think it got to the point of lack of players being the biggest problem? In my opinion while lack of players is an immediate problem it isn't THE problem. It is just the a result of many other problems. Most of which have been discussed since beta. Again, in my opinion, if DCU were to somehow gain several hundred thousand players next week like it did at release, I'm not sure that in a few months the server situation would be any different than it is right now. |

This is nice CONSOLE game. That's all. I gived up after week. At least they sould try to make game PC friendly .. but they did not even bother. And as usually like majority of console games ... all is mainly about button masshing. This recipe can never work in PC world. |

{mod edit} They provide enough healing barrels at each boss in the penguin instance to easily finish the instance no matter what level of gear you have {mod edit} Raids only take 8 players and I easily manage to do all 5 raids up to twice a week for my main and usually my alt if I feel like raiding some more. {mod edit} The only thing lower server populations have truely affected is two fold. 1. PvP queue time - simply because not everyone actively PvPs and certainly not any time they are online. Nothing that cross server queue won't fix once they are implemented. 2. PvE group finder - players relying on the game finding a group for them aren't going to have an easy time of it until they implement cross server queues. All 8 man raids are formed outside outside of thi tool as well as almost all 4 man alerts (all the ones at end game at least). Good players simply form thier own groups in chat channesl instead of trying to carry bad players.{mod edit} |

Play on Death and Glory, it has a very healthy population. Queues for pvp and instances/duos take mere minutes even at off-peak hours. Don't listen to the babies on these forums who constantly whine and complain any time this game gets mentioned, it's actually one of the better mmos to come out in years :) |

Couple things:
The game is doing extremely well on the PS3. All the servers there are heavily populated. There are 2 PC Servers that are doing very well. The bad - All the rest of the PC servers need help.
They need to stop everything they're doing right now and allocate all their available resources to consolidate some of the PC Servers. Open up character transfers to Public Enemies and merge Cry for blood with Public Enemies. They should also do the same with a few of the PC PvE servers as well.

I'll tell you what crippled pop values... First impressions. Sever consolidation is a symptom of a bigger problem, frankly. Even if you take half the comments here at face value and consolidate them down to what? Two? Three servers? Sure you'll gain population density, but you're still bleeding out for overall subscribership. It'll help you for your gameplay, agreed, but it's a bandaid solution for what is in reality a sucking chest wound. As for it being more popular on the PS3, no surprise. The game screamed console from beta and it's big title in a small mmo console pond. Hate to say it, but this was all pretty well predicted from day zero, even with later improvement. |

Finally got in last night (download problems). Had the same issue with Pengbot Maximus. Took my fire tank in with one T1 piece. In Damage role, I died before I could break a healing barrel. In Tank mode, I survived better, but I couldn't do enough dps to get him below 25%. Tried for about 30 minutes before quitting in frustration. Also, the original release got me hooked on VO. The new content patches really feel odd with the characters not talking to me. I hope they find some money somewhere and go back and VO these releases. I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil |

The thing is SOE is trying to into something new to the mmo market (IE the action mmo) Players are just use to the RPG mmos. This action mmo is not new. But does not sit well with the main stream mmo players. http://ksbscrapbook.com/ |

Well, not sure what to say other than your review and second impression remain very different from the majority of people who purchased the PC version of the game. The majority of PC players have quit the game (I don't know about PS3). Your reviews are overwhelmingly positive, except about how there are so few players. As another person pointed out, saying the lack of population is the problem is just ignoring the real problems that most people see in the game. That's okay that you have a different opinion on the game, but I think you should acknowledge that your view appears to be the minority. Some would argue that you shouldn't judge a game based upon popularity, and that's true but you can judge a game by how fast the population has declined. DCUO is on epic ground on that statistic. |

PS3 servers are healthy? Thats great considering I've all but given up on pc gaming. Too many headaches. Buy a game for a console and 99% of the time it runs fine every time and no need to worry over costly hardware upgrades to keep up with the shiny. PC gaming is dying. Its slowly dying but its dying. More mmorpgs are coming to consoles now than ever before. |

Played for a week on my friend's account. I really thought I'd be engrossed in the game with all the patching and content updates, but dear god just getting to 20 felt like a chore. It's a bloody boring game, and now that I've seen that myself, I can discard it entirely without ever wondering. Hell even my friend doesn't really play. He logs in with his guild members twice a week to raid and then he, and they, log off and go back to ignoring the game. How sad is that?
Couldn't even do any alerts because the population was so dead. Forget about PvP. Such a shame. All that money and talent that went into this game, an utter waste. Needs to be ripped out of SoE's hands and given to someone proper before it's too late. "Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions." |

These were just taken. It's Saturday. The weekend. You know, what should be 'peek' hours when gamers are home from school/work and spending their time off playing the game they like which, clearly, is not this one.

SOE has gotten good at doing one thing right though: mass server merges! They do it like no other company can! |

Recently returned back to the game and a few things struck me that I believe are contributing to one of the most dramatic drops in player numbers I've seen in all my time playing MMO's (and I've been there through Warhammer and AoC etc). |

Game has WAY to many things missing from it. Chat WAS horrible, it got a little better. Other then Raids and going in instances with Boss Battles. There is not to much to do with groups. Powers and Costumes don't have enough varity. The biggest problem everyone seems to talk about is. They want to play there hero but can't because the game is to limited. |

This is the best MMO I have ever played. A really fun action gameplay, incredible visual design and DC superheroes make it amazing |
