Ok, i've played many many Mmorpg's in my life, and today I decided it's time to quit. My last buy is Rift, and after a month I am bored with it... It's all the same all over again, and I am not going to spent one cent on it again.. Call it a MMorpg burn-out , I don't know what it is, but whenever a new mmorpg comes out, it doesn't match my hopes. I guess i am a more solo kind of player, that's what I mostly do on a mmorpg... So I am going to focus more on single player RPG's. Really enjoying two worlds II, so I am going to be busy with that one... Maybe in the future going to check the mmorpg genre again, and maybe not... Or it's my age, i am 43 :)
Wish u peeps all the best and enjoy ur mmorpg's.... |

OP do not listen to this guy. Do whatever makes you happy. I'm guessing perhaps yes you are burnt out on MMORPG's at the moment. Play some single player games, give it a few months or more and you may have the urge to try out some MMO's again. In any case enjoy your gaming. :) |

I hear you, im not currently playing anything either. Can't stand WoW clones designed around a 12 year olds intelligence. Seems like a lot of people are sick of them, so there is hope that somebody somewhere is listening. |

Playing Fallout New Vegas again. It's nice to be able to kill people who don't agree with me. Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1. |

Why do you attack someone for absolutely no reason? Maybe you're projecting. Maybe you need to look in the mirror if you want to see someone who seems to be demonstrating the typical adolescent, basement-dweller, anti-social behaviorial patterns. |

There have been some decent ones along the way, such as DDO, but because of business models or (like you said) it being all the same.. I haven't played a good MMORPG in years.
I think we're just in an MMO funk. And that's not just for MMOS, but PC games in general. Again, there are some decent ones.. but exclusives? I'm just going to wait until Guild Wars 2 because I'm pretty confident in that game. |

Well I have to say your topic definitely caught my attnetion as I'm going through the exact same thing. I've been playing MMORPG's since 2004 and it just seems like nothing is getting me excited anymore about logging in to any of them. My last MMO purchase was Rift as well and within a month, I cancelled because I couldn't make myself log in anymore. I also usually play solo and am slowly approaching 33 so it was nice to read your post knowing that I've not gone crazy, I'm just uninspired and probably burnt out.
I remember the days when I couldn't wait to get home from work so that I could pull an all nighter playing because I was so excited and so into my characters. I usually rp in most games which has always added a little extra enjoyment but alas, about 3 or 4 months ago I hit my slump and figured I was completely over it. I tried Rift and as I said before, cancelled shortly after. I'm also giving single player games a try until I can get that feeling of fun and excitement back for MMO's. Just know you're not alone and hope you find something that you like in a game. =) |

I have to say I am right there along with you. Been playing for so many years and it all seems very repetitious now. Plus money is getting really really tight, and I'm not okay with 'throwing away' $60 bucks on a new MMO just to get bored with it a month out. I took an extended break last year of 9 months. Thought that would cure it but nope...the magic is still gone for me. Maybe forever, who knows. Time to find a new hobby or make a game of my own. Good luck OP, and I hope you find something that brings you the kind of enjoyment that MMO gaming used to! |

Speaking for myself, I'm not burned out on MMORPG's; I'm burned out on single player games passing themselves off as MMORPG's. I haven't played a MMORPG in 8 years. |

I think you the op are perhaps getting out too quick,Archeage is going to create some new ideas for the genre.Yes i do see some weak points and even flaws, but thereis a lot in the game that will play out differently than others in this gernre. So for that reason alone,it might offer soemthing you like. I did all that Everquest stuff and i did like it at one time but questing treadmills are definitely out.So now i have my grouping game in FFXI and i hope to add Archeage as the "unique" game in this genre No it is not flawless, but i think this game will have a lot to offer. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

This is 1 of the very few games I have any interest in these days! 1 of the very few that really looks like it might be worth playing (I could do without the fox-people, but it's a Asian game so some kind of cat/fox people seems inevitable). |

Funny. Whenever a new mmorpg comes out, it's sustainment doesn't match the developers or publishers hope either. Over the past several years of millions of box sales only to have each mainstream mmorpg nose-dive in subscribership 3-6months out to a 200k to 300k level pretty much shows that.
You're not alone. |
