I'm looking for games with any of these things, but all of them would be better for obvious reasons. :D - Interesting loot systems. Instead of just getting a weapon with +2 damage every few levels, I'd like to see games with systems closer to FFXI's. You have items with "occasionally strikes three times" and "fast cast" etc. Interesting abilities ON items. - Conquest. Again, I've been playing FFXI and the game has a conquest system. You kill beastmen for your faction and they can gain control of that area of the game, turning it into a zone for your faction, setting up guards for your faction etc etc. What games do you guys know of with any form of conquest? - Open dungeons. Places in the game that require groups to go through and yet are not instanced. - Interesting crafting. Any crafting system beyond "use this recipe with these generic ingredients to create a preset item" would be nice. - Overly complex rulesets. Look at FFXI and you get the idea. - Interesting spins on gameplay. ANYTHING you think a game has done interesting will be worthwhile for me. Thanks in advance, ladies and gents. I think I am going to direct you towards Vanguard. Complex crafting and non-instanced dungeons are two of it's primary features. As for complex rulesets and interesting spins... those are pretty relative. And I never played FFXI. |

Originally posted by ArEf SOE's official word, which was posted on the Vanguard site in response to the SOE layoffs, is that they have no intentions of shutting the game down.
"Inhabitants of Telon, We wanted to share the information below with you all directly, rather than having you read about it on another site. I am sure that many of you have been concerned that this may spell the end of Telon. While Vanguard is a veteran game, there are no plans to sunset the world of Telon so long as its citizens continue to dwell in such sustainable numbers. Your ongoing support of the game is deeply appreciated and you are all important members of our online community. Thank you, all. ~Linda “Brasse” Carlson Director, Global Community Relations" |
