The Bioware and Star Wars: The Old Republic teams have announced that a localized version of the game will be produced for Wookies. In a pair of dramatic videos, devs how off the powerful efforts of the voice acting team.

Since the initial announcement of the localized versions of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, we’ve heard the growls and roars from the community requesting the game be translated for Wookiees, and we are pleased to announce that this dream is now becoming a reality.

From their subtle roar of sadness to the pleasant yelp of excitement, Wookiees are a role model for companionship, loyalty and respect, and we at BioWare and LucasArts want to show our appreciation. Therefore, all text in the game will be translated into Shyriiwook, and all voice-overs will be re-recorded by authentic, native Wookiee speakers.

When do we get a Sandpeople translation ? I think this is just shows that fur sells and we sandpeople get the bad end of then bantha AGAIN!

While i enjoyed it and laughed at certain videos.  There is also some info here.  What your seeing (not hearing, as thats not how they will actually sound, minus the actual wookie) appears to be something they want in game.

Yes, kind of, to all four.

First - and what I was mostly thinking of - you got a glimpse of the improved facial animation system that our animators have been working on for quite a while. This is going to help make conversation scenes in The Old Republic even more involving! With or without Wookiees. 

Second, yes, that's companion UI... however, our UI has entirely changed. We now use Ewok fur instead of Wookiee fur. Also, it looks different. Let's just call it a work in progress! :P

Three and four - yes, we have lots of emotes and yes, we have love scenes (perhaps lacking in sound effects).

Also just FYI - Bowdaar's appearance in the second video was purely as a silent punchline to the action. The usage of companions in Flashpoints and other parts of the game is still in testing.

Big note: i seriously would be surprised if the wookie UI is something that is in game, that part at least i'm sure was added as part of the joke.
