No doubt about a mesmer class. It's so Guild Wars-ish as to be nearly a foregone conclusion. For the other profession, I know they have a charr silhouette, but an engineer-type profession would fit in really well for the little gnome guys (ah, I forget the name... my bad). I think we're looking at mesmer for the lore, and engineer to empower the gnomes. -- Xix |

Ok - I was shocked when I read this article this morning. -- The coma splice in sentence two was disappointing. -- Then the weird typo for the Charr. Is there no copy editing on this site? Also - I would assume that all Norn have the ability to shapeshift. Have we heard otherwise???? The overall impression of this piece was that you lifted somone's post from the forums, some random person who has no real experience with Guildwars, Guildwars2, or the English language. Is this guest contributor week?

Originally posted by DraganBlack Very much agree with #1, Mesmer/ Illusionist class.. As mentioned they are in the storyline and the Queen is/was a Mesmer. Its just to good a class to drop. Light armor works here :)
#2 not a clue but an engineer type could be interesting. I don't realy care what both classes turn out to be....as long as one is a Mesmer type. |

Norn already can turn into their totemic animals, it would be rather, put bluntly, retarded, for Arena.net to force a race of animal-shifting giants who could all do it, to have to be one specific class just to do it. It's also been disproven multiple times should one bother to read the books, though it shouldn't have to be in the first place.
One WILL be a magic class, and as Arena.Net has stated the Mesmer style will be with it. Mesmers still exist, so if we aren't getting a pure Mesmer class, we will be getting one with a heavy bent for mind-breaking and aweing.
As for the "gadgeter", Asuran characters already get Golems, Charr do not, and will never because Golems are powered by Magic, something the Charr still have a hatred for from their time dealing with the Flame Legion Shamans and their "false gods". So no, nothing that fancy. The most the Charr have shown in advances of technology is their key city, the Black Citadel, flamethrowers, and the like. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Classes
Based upon the discriptions, you have elemental and necrotic magic, with one slot open. So it guarantees a mental-based system for magic to be the 3rd light armor reveals major focus. You can also see a gun-based class is missing as well. Rangers are still very much a pet-oriented class, and Assassins are more the quick-hitters and stealthy type. What isn't there is a long-ranged focus "Sniper" class which focuses on rifle-based skills, which are lacking from the Ranger. And a "Sniper" is my guess for the medium armored class. |

Warriors can already do charged shots and stuff with rifles, so i doubt sniper. And I think sniper would overlap the scout kind of playstyle that the thief has anyway |

The classes will be the; Enchanter/Illusionist (a 250 year evolution of the Mesmer) and the; Articifer (alchemist and gun using character who can make potions and black powder, gun upgrades etc.) |

Originally posted by Milkopilko Yes, just like warriors can do stuff with weapons in off-hand, which overlaps with the thief and his dual-wielding. All the classes overlap in some way, so just because one CAN use it, doesn't mean another class can't. For example: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Axe
And the Thief isn't a "scouting" type. He's more along the lines of guerrila fighter, and is a re-working of the Assassin style of play.
And Prof, sorry to say but they aren't going to make a "Pure buff-bot" class, as it would go completely against every bloody thing they've said in all of the interviews. There is a generic set of buffs that are shared and can be applied by all of the classes (for the most part). Besides, a lot of the Ritualists I know would hate you for calling them "pure buff/debuffers".
"Articifer (alchemist and gun using character who can make potions and black powder, gun upgrades etc.)" Won't happen. Crafting already is doing this, and there's no class that can (and ever will) make anything for use and sale, unless its through the same crafting skill everyone else can get. |

Originally posted by Cursedsei The "pure buffer/debuffer" is referred to the Ritualist of GW1 (Faction). Ritualist was my first option in GW, and i played in a top 100 guild so, i know what a ritualist can do. I know about the classes style upgrade of GW2, and still think than using immoble spirits, can be a nice enhance in pvp and pve tactics. Ritualist was the best pure buffer of GW, like monk was the best healer, imho. :) Beati Monoculi in Terra Caecorum |

Originally posted by Profano I know what you were referring to, and frankly I know a lot of ritualists who would hate to be called a "pure buffer/debuffer", as they are a very powerful solo class as well. SoS rits can be a bloody dangerous thing, and are far from just a "buff-dispenser". |

Okay so im not sure if anyone else has read the GW2 lead-up books, but anyway, in the books they mention a profession not mentioned on the GW2 professions page. Queen Jennah is a MESMER....... so that will be one of them. Oh, and my bro thinks the charr like thing silhouette will be a Pirate or a Sailor. |

people need to look at how they released the classes... arenanet released a caster, then a "tank" type, then range... so ele/war/ranger.... then they did it again... nec/guardian/theif... so final two will be a caster and a tank type melee... nay not tank... id say a berserker type class... never played deep into GW1 but im thinknig somewhere along the derv guys... huge blade with more skills towards hitting multiple enemies... def mes for last caster class tho... and remember this is just the starting classes... they will have expacs that will prolly release more classes later... |
