Thinking of buying Crysis 2...how do you guys like it? Will be getting it for the PC
Gamespot gave it a medicore review...but review sites aren't the best for getting reviews of games. Check out my nature/animal/relaxing music channel on Youtube! My game channel on Youtube! |

I have it and I'm enjoying it very much so far. I figure I'm about halfway through the game at this point. The only thing I find annoying so far is the save point system. You have to make it to the next checkpoint so the game will save your progress. I found this to be annoying about the first game as well but still enjoyed it emensely. The storyline is a little hard to follow this time as it tends to jump around a lot but so far it's still good... It's just kinda fragmented. I would recommend it.

Like Crysis 1. It's Halo with shiny graphics and crappy storyline.

I found the intro lacking on immersion to the story, they could have made it better. Mainly due to the stock footage, which is getting old. Looks like they got a bunch of youtube videos and edited together...
However, I do recommend the game, been enjoying it immensely. Future: WoD, SWTOR, Arche Age, Tera (maybe), GW2. |

Single player story and game is great.
Multiplayer is not so great, very disappointed here - nothing like Crysis Wars Multiplayer which I think needs the most skill out of any FPS I have played to date. Small maps, no sandbox type, vechiles... bit of a let down to be honest.

It play's well, spent a whole day on it and was surprised that it was 5 in the afternoon when I finally took a break. So yeah it's a good game. However. It's been a while since I played crysis 1 but the ceph aren't that cold environment with flying tentacle ships, neither are they blue black, they're now red silver. and humanoid - ish. and the weapons... in crysis 1 you could mod all your weps and toggle between semi and auto fire. in crysis 2 if you want to toggle fire rates you replace your underbarrel grenade launcher slot with a semi auto shot slot. they got rid of maximum strength, which imo sucks. Because even though jumping obstacles etc is more fluid, using a 'power' kick / strike drains all your suite energy and takes a few secs to 'charge' up. along with being unable to skip or speed up certain video sequences, fragmented weak story, and having almost nothing to do with the original game left me rather disappointed and annoyed. The cryengine three is good, it runs smooth and if played as a stand alone game you'll probably enjoy it. |

Every respected PC gamer should leave this game alone its a cheap console port. 5/10 rating for this game. Always boycot console ports to pc only play games that are realy made for PC or boycot hehe. Game for PC is DX9 thats rediculous and a insult to pc owners. |

Originally posted by Evasia I completely disagree. It's not a console port, Crysis started out as PC only and was ported from PC to consoles and even then it maintained it's status as having amazing graphics and gameplay. The engine the game is built on was changed to be more efficient and now I see all of my quad-core machine working to provide even more amazing graphics than Crysis 1, at a better framerate than Crysis 1. The multiplayer is however less than Crysis Wars quality but that does not detract from the single player experience provided, and DX11 support will also soon be added. Boycotting console to PC ports, in my opinion, is useless and unneccessary. While I love my gaming PC, it cost over $1200, it runs with amazing graphics and destroys most everything I throw at it, but it's four times the cost of an Xbox 360, or PS3. Consoles have their place and so do PCs, developers can make quality games for both, so just because a game "exists" on a console that does not mean you should make baseless, unresearched accusations on the PC version. “The best government is a benevolent tyranny tempered by an occasional assassination.” - Voltaire |

I gotta agree with Evasia on one point, this game could have been a whole lot more had it not been planned as a Console game primarily, and a PC game as an afterthought. DX9 really is kind of a slap in the face coming from Crytek. That company single handedly pushed PC graphics miles ahead of the consoles with the first Crysis. The fact that the game supports none of the advanced DX10/11 features is almost proof that now it's a console title, with just a PC version tacked on for extra sales. Especially when DX11 features could have made the graphics, which are good, look amazing and push the boundary yet again in PC graphics. |

Crytek themselves claim that with Crysis 2, "[We’re] not making a console game and bringing it to PC...". While the game did not launch with DX11 graphics it will be delivered *tomorrow* in a game patch for PC. I don't think Crytek is abandoning their PC users at all, with more platforms to program for stuff just gets spread out and takes a bit longer to be finished. In my opinion this does not merit Crysis 2 being a terrible game, or even close to a 5/10, I saw Rayman 3DS score a 5.5 from IGN, and in my eyes Crysis 2 >>>> Rayman 3DS, no doubt. While Crysis 2 isn't the masterpiece Crysis was at launch it also launched simulatneously across 3 platforms, a feat I see few games achieve these days, let alone considering the success it's experiencing on consoles.

Just hoping to support my opinion with facts, not trying to force it down anyone's throats. Have a good night everyone :) “The best government is a benevolent tyranny tempered by an occasional assassination.” - Voltaire |

In my opinion the game needed a bit more time. Several bugs popping up, those that are used to regular Crysis, mousewheel to change suit ability, often in C2 this bugs out and you are stuck. I hate how it says press left or right to view next player and you can't - bugged. As I've steadily been leveling up seems like quite a few servers are unstable, search functions of servers are shit, poor choices compared to previous versions of the game. It seems like COD4 had a big influence character is not as responsive, machine guns are a favourite and most importantly levels - I hate the levels, never had them in Crysis Wars multi. Everyone was even. The levels are there for the console folks as well as the limited amount of players per multi map game. I like some of the multiplayer maps and game variants but some are too small.
