Defiant, at least if it follows the trend from beta. Which is why I'm rolling Guardian. Insta Warfront queue times and lots and lots of enemies to kill. 

It will be interesting to see how bad it is - as in - crowded.  I remember the start of B7 and how it was almost impossible to do anything because of the sheer number of people trying to do the same thing.  This is not a knock against RIFT, it happens with all games as they come out.  The starting areas are saturated with folks trying to do the starting quests.

Will definitely want to start with some sort of toon that has a ranged attack even if that will be changed out later - just to be able to tap targets for quest completion...

Guardians, because the elves get wings and everybody loves wings:) i however will be going Defiant

The Guardian side is spread out and somewhat tedious.  The Defiant side flows better.  At least that is how it felt to me.  It was a case of feeling like I was doing something as a Defiant, while it generally felt like I was heading somewhere to do something as a Guardian.

If your following all the guilds, it would seem more Guardian guilds exist, I dont know if this means there are going to be less Defiant, or if it just means the type of person who plays Guardian is more likely to be a self starter and more self motivated.

As for me I am playing Defiant, maybe I am just a follower..

I think in the end it just comes down to Mathosian Female or Eth Female, eh?  Everybody took each for a swim and made their decision at that point...

One can only assume what kind of threads will appear, if the Pre-release is a bit rocky.

Up to level 20ish, the Defiant side is a lot more linear in quest progression and zone layout. Some people, like this poster, seem to prefer it that way. Others will enjoy the more organic feel and freedom of the Guardian 7-20 experience. I had fun playing both sides, but I'm going Guardian for much faster Warfront QUEUEs and the more ominous Forest setting.

Funny thing about this game, I'm going Rogue as my main character for the first time in a long while. Doing the first 12-15 levels as a Marksman/Ranger/Saboteur, but then I'll be grabbing the other souls and developing a Riftstalker/Bladedancer/Saboteur as my main build.

If there is a serious lack of Healers, I may roll a second and fall back on my traditional role, but I'm looking forward to exploring the world initially as a Rogue.
