Don't buy it if you're not sure, as with all things in life.

If you enjoy severe lag, desyncing, bug's and spending 95% of your time relogging to 'fix' an annoyance - I recommend Earthrise! If you ever have any issues, simply contact the trained chimps at Masthead and they'll get back to you when it suits them.

The game is great. Too bad the vocal minority is destroying its reputation. The patch from today addresses a lot of those issues that Drink is saying and the game is much better than its release version. If you are still not certain, wait another 2-3 patches, if you want to jump in and start developing your character, don't hesitate to join now.

Earthrise will be an excellent game pretty soon regardless of what most people are saying on those forums.

MH destroyed the rep themselves. This is what happens when you release a game to the public that should have just been going into beta. Then ontop of that charge them AAA mmo prices.

wow really?! We are still using MMORPG to get input! If you ever want good accurate input go to the forum boards of the game and NOT mmorpg! I am sorrry but that is just the case. Like really negative input on mmorpg should be taken with a grain of salt! like a very very very small grain of salt. If there is negative input on the game boards itself then yeah, that is a different. just my two cents being thrown out there.

Well, at least for Earthrise, you cannot post on their on their forums unless you drop the $50 for it.  I guess at that point you don't really need to hear any input about it lol.

I've been going to the ER forums every few days while bored at work and it's not a pretty sight.  Something that I thought was odd is that they removed the techinical forums from public view.  You used to be able to read the tech forums without registering, now you cannot.  Odd.

Wait a month or two, unless you have a high end PC and good conn. Me and my entire guild are having a blast, i have an average of 150ms, 60 FPS but then i have a high end gaming rig and good connection. MHS just needs to optimize it for the idiots who are still running 256mb graphics cards and AMD duel-core's then complaining the game runs like crap. 

You have the same 3-4 people trolling this board and condemning the game outright, these same people are judging the game on its Beta, and have not played retail or the latest version released yesterday. Nor are they are not considering how the game will be a few months down the line. Everyone who registered before 11th feb received a free month, so im not particularly bothered. Most people just need the lag/perfromance improved some more, the last patch helped this. Once performance picks up over the next few months and a few extra features are implemented Earthrise is 100% worth picking up. Either way i am having a blast right now learning the game/crafting/pvping and such. 

Spraying my anti-troll pesticide now. See ya.

 FFS did you even read their forums before facerolling a reply?! Wow really?!?!

Nothing that anyone has said here is made up. All of these problems are a reality.

They even can't keep their own lies striaght. At first they claimed territorial warefare 100% done they were just waiting for players to level up. Then a few weeks later they make a post about how territorial warefare is coming along nicely and will be completed in time for the roadmap in March.

You accused me of 'trolling'  these boards during Earthrise' early BETA days, before any keys or leaks for that matter were in circulation. Although receiving a temporary ban, I put forward my opinion on it's state (at that time) for the folks that wanted to here it. The truth of the matter is, Earthrise was a complete mess then, and it still is to this day - it's not going to change anytime soon.

You police this forum like you are on a commision based PR job, anyone that slates or forms an opinion on Earthrise that isn't remotely positive, is either 'trolling' or doesn't know what they are talking about. If you are happy to pay for the shit that Masthead is producing, then go right ahead, but don't automatically brand an individual a troll for forming an opinion that doesn't coincide with yours.

Thanks for the essay! Unfortunately, you have overlooked one very simple fact that has flawed your entire argument.

I hold an ACTIVE subscription for Earthrise. Atleast I do until the game time runs out. You see, I may be extremely critical of Earthrise, but I gave Masthead the benefit of the doubt just before BETA ended and pre-ordered - supported the cause, etc etc. Suffice to say, I wish I hadn't of bothered. I have more fun reading through the complaints on their official forums.

This should shut down the 'your position is invalid or considerably less value than mine because I'm subbed and you're not' nonsense too many forumites use to try and win internet arguments.

I love it when someone pulls the 'you aren't playing, so you don't know what you're talking about' card, when checking officials forums are easily and quickly available to get a better flavor of a game than any one fanboi's opinion.

It doesn't matter if someone is playing a game or not when enough people can validate what the person is saying about it is true or not.

Saying someone is an 'authority' on anything just because they hold an active subscription is one of the most flawed logical premises ever.

So is Rifts front page. So is Rifts 'general discussion' here on MMORPG. So is Star Trek Online's page, and World of Warcraft's page. So is The Old Republics page, and Warhammer Online. Every MMORPG forum section is full of people like you, and people dissatisfied with the game. Most people who enjoy the game are doing just that. I only come on here before i log in, during breaks and after, as i do my daily forum rounds.  

If you are basing your opinion off people who saw the shiny front cover and said 'cool im gonna buy that', you will have a warped view of the game. If you want the best opinion, either go buy it yourself, or ask people in guilds, as guildies are the people who are playing the game how it was meant to be played, progressing their char, reaping the benefits and enjoying the game for what it is. 

Yea I wouldn't bother unless you really hate yourself.. The game is pretty much stillborn... Awesome concept, bad implementation, half the player base is already pretty much a year's worth of "xp" and credits 2 weeks into the game from poorly thought-out spawns and systems, and the server stability is horrendous. Last I heard they were going to 'fix' these spawns, so don't even think about trying to catch up to the founder players with their countless hundreds and hundreds of thousands of BP and millions in credits.

That's pretty funny, even though what you said isn't true. Looking at any other MMO I can find at least 5 positive posts about their game on their main page.

I think Earthrise had two.

Just got the patch and sad to say but its still in a horrid state. I'll wait for another patch or try in a couple of weeks. Don't get the game now. Theres still no content and its just performance issues that are being looked at now.
