I didn't hear anything about this game and now its #3 on the top MMO list here behind Rift. It's a shame I am already committed to playing Rift with friends, this looks very interesting. Can anyone who has been in the beta care to comment on getting up to speed in this game? I'm just wondering if a few months down the road I get tired of Rift and go check this out if I will have missed a lot of the "fun" of a game like this. |

Originally posted by Meltdown It's rough around the edges as the final combat system isn't implemented (Left and right punch, blocking and dodge are all in but somewhat clunky). The Dev wants more of a Mount & Blade type combat. This game is very addicting for crafters and world builders. You basically start the game with limited tools crawling out of a cave into a world with everything wiped clean from an apocolypse. We will be building towns, economies and remaking civilization as we see fit. The game will have stages. This first stage, prelude, is expected to last approx 6 months. The game will evolve and more things introduced. I started a few weeks ago and it was winter. Snow fell. It accumulates on the ground. Quite immersive. The snow melt and then spring came. This is a very welcome feature imo. In one hour our tribe is going to be in on the gold rush, aka land rush. |

Never tried Mount and Blade to see that combat style. Sounds interesting, it might be competing with Rift for playtime soon. I heard about the character wipe happening very soon. Are they wiping characters and then having an "early start" for players starting this weekend? I see mmorpg.com has the release date set for 3/1/11 |

Originally posted by Meltdown The videos don't really do the game justice IMO. The graphics are not that exciting to me. But the gameplay and the concepts are brilliant. Like the other guy said, its addicting as hell. I played the rift beta (and pre ordered) and enjoyed it. I played the Xsyon beta and was hooked almost immediately. It's only a model |

I was taken by suprise too. I found this game when I randomly saw pics of guys in plaid and thought "Wtf a lumberjack sim mmo?" I had just been getting into Wurm Online and thinking "This fun, but the engine is crap and slightly better graphics would be nice", then this game presented both.

I think this should give the industry a hint that there really are a lot of players who want something other that quests to kill 100 rats. Number 3 behind Rift? with a 5 man dev team? wow does your game have rainbow sprinkles and magic ponies!? |

This is the kind of game where everything you do has a meaning. your not pushed into doing mindless quest that do nothing other then waist your time to get to the next lvl. In this game things that you kill will stay dead and not come back. trees you chop fall and take time to regrow. animels breed and multiply. You make things that people need. You build roads and towns and change the land as you see fit. When someone send you on a quest to get bones, wood, rocks or bear heads they are doingso because they will actuly be using these items and selling them or trading them to the community.Your not stuck into becoming anything. you can be a hunter one sec and change your mind and become a lumberjack, tailer, armor smith or whatever you like to do in an instant. |

Originally posted by sharif I understand they hired a new developer to work on improving the combat engine. Originally posted by mayaman Yes those who pre-order do get a head start..sense they helped fund the company i guess; however the game has had a really bad launch so far. Major lag and server crashes sense yesterday..... if they can get this server up and running smoothly then we will have a good game. |

Originally posted by sharif I'm quite sure they get things sorted out. Granted, it may take a few days, perhaps even a week or so, perhaps another rollback or wipe - but I'm confident that they'll get it done. During beta in the last two weeks the game was remarkable stable for me, without a single client crash, that's not bad at all for a small development team. |

I'm so intrigued by this game. Hoping that it suceeds and that a free trial comes out eventually because i'd love to give it a whirl. I just can't put out the 40$ to take a gamble on me liking it or not. |

The more i read about it the more it sounds like playing Barbie. Jeremiah 8:21 I weep for the hurt of my people; I stand amazed, silent, dumb with grief. |
