Yes. I prefer the landscape in the Defiant areas I've seen so far. The only thing that makes me hesitate is I've read that a lot more people are expected to play the Defiant side leading to an unbalanced population. I've played both sides with various characters in beta and it does seem that it's been a lot quicker to join a warfront from the Guardian side than Defiant. I only joined a few warfronts last weekend while playing a Guardian cleric but it was available virtually instanty each time, even in the morning and middle of the night.

So, I'll probably roll a Guardian first but then try a Defiant alt  later.

Guardian. Because I want my gaming experince to flow effortlessly and with the lower pop I will have less quest mongering and faster PVP queue times.

Plus I can tell the difference between reality and a fantasy computer game and don't feel those who are choosing guardians are siding with the 'christians/muslims/buddist/and other type of religion'.

 Guardians being the good guys is a common misconception, there is no good or bad just different ideologies.

guardians are religious & believe the gods will save them & believe the defiants are heretics.

Defiants put there faith in their technology & science & having an open mind towards that sort of thing.

Im rolling Defiant because I dont like the whole guardian holier than thou vibe I get from them, & I would always put my money on science any day (dont wana have a science vs religion discussion, would rather poke my eyes out with blunt pencil, just saying is all). 

I know what you are getting at, they are just different sides.  Each with their own appeal and disgust.  My wife said they are the 'good' side and I say yes dear, it is your turn to choose the faction :)  (<-- well trained husband and this was not worth turning into a debate)

I'm going to make a character on both sides, and the side I like the story most of and get more online friends I'd probably stick with.

Leaning towards Defiant.

However I am going to spend the next beta on Guardian side in order to better decide (and test things I haven't yet).

So I won't be sure until afterwards.

Exactly why I'm rolling Guardian as well.

Guardian for me.  I am frequently playing those "monster" type of characters, and this time I'd thought I would switch it up and play a boring old "human" type character.  Plus, for some reason I just wasn't liking the defiant starter area or the next area (sorry don't remember the name, its parallel to silverwood).  I kind of view Guardian as the "bad" side for some reason or another lol.

Both, because I don't see the point in not experiencing the quests and dungeons on both sides.

Defiant initially because that's what my Guild has decided on. 

Anyone know whether  there will be restrictions as to what factions you can play...  if you already have a character on a server? (Aion for example, you could only have one character faction type per server). 

If there are none,  I will probably eventually have both Guardian and Defiant.

You can play the other sides Dungeon.

Anyway Guardian for me. 

I think Defiant will be overcrowded but my dungu guild won't listen. They insist on rolling Defiant. I hate this but I have no choice Defiant I guess.

I think Defiant as well. I like their science oriented mentality and their tenacity in finding solutions with their technology. Instead of waiting for the gods to save their behinds like the Guardians. My dilemma on the other hand is about which class to choose between the 2 that i liked but it does not concern this thread.

If there is a bad side its the Guardians at least thats how the story lays it out. I'll be a Defiant.

The first thing you see of the Defiants after obtaining control over your char is, how they kill a Guardian and steal his soul. I'd call this evil :P

Should I choose Guardian then if I want to be on "good" side, since I have always played bad side, Destro in WAR and Horde in WoW

Guardians have way prettier starting zones, but I'm not sure I'd be into the whole "for the gods!" thing. I've played mainly as a Defiant during the betas so far, will be trying guardian for the open beta.

However, I like the Defiant races a lot better for looks. The Kelari are not as much "dark elves" as they are "fae" or possibly "evil fae" in my opinion... and with enough tweaking, you can make them look pretty damn badass. No matter what the wife and I decide though, I will definitely be making a kelari alt, just so I can recreate this character:

I was going to go Guardian at first, but I think the female elves are hideous and the female humans have some weird crap going on with their upper lip (it like... covers their teeth). You may say that I am shallow, but I like my characters to look good and that bothered the hell out of me.

Sorry for the picture spamming, but I've found that it -is- possible to make the Bahmi females look pretty decent - It takes a lot of tweaking though. But, I came up with this during the last beta:

I went through pretty much all the races with the character creator, for both genders, and generated appearances that I liked - And then screenshotted it with the settings, so I could recreate them for live. The above is a cropped version of one of those screenshots.

I have always prefered the darker side of games so I will likely choose Defiant, even if this game is Defiant heavy on the population it wont matter as I am more into PvE than PvP so from my standpoint and play style having the more populated faction is a good thing, right?

well the defiants are heretics because they have turned their back on the gods, and in the world of telara the gods are real.
