Does anyone else think this company is doing its loyal fan base a diservice, pumping out a new game every year or so? Why dont they just put their efforts into one game, continually improving it (no i dont mean weekly item mall updates)?
To me this seems to be a major issue with the eastern f2p games. A game come out, draws a crowd, and a year later another game, very similair comes out by the same people. Players from the old game migrate, leaving loyal fans playing an outdated version. It seems like a constant cycle, and PW or whoever is making these games caught my attention on this. PWI has 7 games now, the first appeard here in 2008. Thats a hell of a lot of games to put out in a few year. To think they could have put those efforts into making one stellar game, like western companies tend to do, only making a new game when technology out paces their current game. Does it bother anyone looking at this game to know that in a year or less, a new title will be released, directly competing with this game, which competes with their previous games? I know each version has its own flavor and gimmick, but still, it seems like an epic waste of money for the 10% of the game who does support the cash shop, usualy heavily too, to see thier game one upped by the same company after a year or two. Thoughts and/or opinions? |

Wanmei has nearly no development costs since they reuse the same horrible 8 year old engine in every game they make. Creating new games fills their wallet, neither PWE or Wanmei gives a crap about you, just money.
+ they have the worst policies and customer support you will find in ANY game. Keep gold farmers and botters in, real players out. |

I used to play PW on the malasian server for a time a few years before Pwi was released. Seems to me they just keep releaseing the same game every year with the same features and a different look. |

Why is it that fantasy trolls are vulnerable to fire, but internet trolls thrive on flame wars? |

They are putting their all into Forsaken World because it is their most ambitious title to date. I played the others, and none of them held my interest for too long (PWI and BoI held it the longest). FW has, because it is their best game to date. They might have pushed games out every year in the past, but with FW, that will all change. Since when is Tuesday a direction? |

Ive played PWI games since I started my MMO career (Lack of a better word) and I must say you are far from the truth OP. Ive noticed in many of there games, atleast newer ones, that they are already perfect when released. PWI doesnt launch unfinished games because they know they will fail. Battle Of The Immortals is a great game... played it since CB, Forsaken World another prime example of a good game, Torch Light another great game, Jade Dynasty which is not the best but still a pretty strong game. Leaving out Heroes Of Three Kingdoms, which wasnt bad but I didnt enjoy it as much as the rest, and Legends Of Martial Arts which to me was a very cartoony version of any of there games up above for a younger crowd, and Perfect World there original MMO which to me was just a experimental grindfest, all of there games were designed for different crowds.
You got Perfect World which is designed for the Asian Grinder You got Battle Of The Immortals designed for the 2.5 D dungeon crawler You got Forsaken World for the more more Western style population You got Heroes Of Three Kindoms a game thats in the middle for someone who wants a hybrid You got Jade Dynasty for fans of the game or fans of Chineese Culture You got Torch Light for fans of dungeon crawlers You got Legends Of Martial Arts for younger kids
All there games are meant to branch to different populations which is a very smart thing to do. And they update there games as much as any other company, I mean look at Perfect World, that just got a major update... and Battle Of The Immortals is updated all the time.
PWI will always be known as the company that really innovated F2P because they are great at what they do. |

Every one of their games are the same boring grinder. Bad translations. Terrible leveling because it requires you to spend money in their cash shop to level at a certain point. If your going to use a cash shop put items in there that people want to buy for show and prestige not to actually keep playing the game. Nothing new about any of their games. It's nothing but a racket. They get some knock off game from China and retrofit it here for the States and the majority of the players come from other countries to US servers to play, because it's better than their own. I have tried almost every game they have thrown out and their all garbage. |

The only good thing that PWI has done has been striking a deal with Runic on the Torchlight MMO. I dread seeing how PWI will canabilize the game when it comes out, though. Runic is a top notch game developer, but this marriage with PWI will end badly. |

Originally posted by Geowash Just one small inaccuracy there, PWI did not create torchlight they published it. It was developed by runic games. |
