To TERA's graphical beauty. TERA Captured in 300 Screenshots I dont think I've ever seen screenshots for an MMO this beautiful. And they're all in HD too. Completely irregardless of gameplay, it is graphically untouchable. FFXIV wishes it looked this good. Some of my favorites: Pretty sure I just HAVE to get a new gaming rig just to do TERA it's justice. Been putting it off for long enough. Sup. |

How can you play a game in English? (Answer, with keyboard and mouse) Very nice screenshots and very tempted to postpone building a monster system (whether the game needs it or not is irrelevant) for whenever it launches. Got one question though, is the world seamless? If I'm not mistaken it is, just a confirmation please. |

Yup, i can confirm that, you have teleports to use in towns and what not, but yes it is seamless, the only loading screens are on instances and when you use these teleports. |

Cannot argue that it is beautiful, but for me I am just not a fan of the anime style. If gameplay rocks I might be persuaded to try swinging a giant axe around though...we'll see. |

It looks really great. Still, I think GW2 looks better. I could be wrong, but I also have the feeling based on the screenshots and footage I've seen that TERA will be a mix of high and low levels of texture and detail, a bit like Aion was, with very detailed character models (up to even very subtle changes in facial expression and lively animation) but the environment of varying levels of detail.
So, personally I find GW2 looking better than TERA, it looks catching though The ACTUAL size of MMORPG worlds: a comparison list between MMO's |

I like the look of GW2 and TERA and I will definitely be playing both, neither of them are however the superior in graphics to ffxiv from what I have seen so far. |

Shame that a game's graphics have almost nothing to do with whether or not I'll enjoy playing them. Gameplay over all, and that's what I'll be focusing on when judging Tera.

The skin resolution on the characters seems low compared to the highly detailed scenery. Kinda like they just decided to pick a color instead of have an actual texture. Spacifically the humans. Oddly the other characters seems to look fine, but then they seem to have more texture. Maybe the other characters had more filters on them. Perhaps it's the uncanny valley creeping in. |

Originally posted by Kuppa It is actually. It's been done better than any other MMO has hands down. But you'll see for yourself if/when you try it. Open Beta will be free of course. Sup. |

Originally posted by Somnicide I realize I quoted the wrong thing by you, but you should be able to figure out what I'm talking about from context. :) I'd look at more videos if my internet was working better right now (Seriously? 4 minutes to load up a LITLE bit of an HD Youtube video, then stop again?), but from what I looked at, I didn't see anything that had the same sense of immense scale that for example the human home city has. I'm not saying those dont' EXIST, I'm just saying I didn't see it. It's possible that they're using the technical side of things to have different goals. After all, GW2 is shooting for multi hundred person 3 way battles over castles. I would think that would be rough with really high end graphics. ... on a sad note, GW2 makes my computer cry, but Tera makes my computer cry even MORE. That's what I get for having a computer so old that I'm pretty sure some of the forum goers here weren't born yet. :) Oh, I really do like how Tera looks, and I think it's top notch quality, I'm not detracting from that by the way, but I just personally like the design behind GW2 more. Only other MMO where I like the design as much is Blade & Soul, but I collect art books and posters and even crappy Korean RPGs by Hyung-Tae Kim, so I'm biased. ;) |
