...There's still people without a key?

After all the frustration with the first two giveaways and them going so fast I couldn't get a key, now I pop on and see this with no comments but I've just finally got a key from applying on their site months and months ago!

 Why are the keys being given out as a draw, when all other's were just first come first serve? Even the DCUO keys were just offered up freely.

 It just seems a bit strange to me is all.

 I guess doing it like this could prevent people from spamming new accounts and hoarding them, but for dedicated daily visitors to the site doing it like this is kind of a kick in the pants.

 Then again, it's only 500 keys and those would have gone pretty fast (just answered my own question there lol). 

 I just hope this isn't how they plan on giving out keys from now on..

The latest Rift newsletter gave keys to everyone good for 25 people each. Should be no shortage of keys for everyone. Guess they wanted a lot more testers. :)

hehe...that's the first thought that came to mind. Seriously, if you dont get a key, all you have to do is stroll over the Rift Forums, on their site, and ask.   With thousands that have a 25 use key, everyone should have a key by now.

 With DCUO we had like 2500 keys.  With the first two Rift key grabs we had 500 and they lasted about 3 minutes.  The majority of people at that time felt we should do something random and not something that required you to be on the site at a sliver in time.

I know there are lots of keys going around now but we have these 500 we need to give them away somehow!

It seems to me though, doing it this way, that there are going to be quite a few people getting keys and not playing. I've known quite a few people from "random drawings" in the past that receieved keys, and never even tried to play the beta. So I really don't feel like a random drawing is the best thing to do, especially when you have a small section of us that WANT to play the beta, and quite a few that don't care.

There is no way to stop that. How do you suggest they give them away without letting people who wont use it get one?

Guys..they are inviting about everyone they got on thier mailing list and giving about every mmo site keys to give away... this aint a beta..its a PR tour..
