Hello all! I've gotten a bit bored with WoW, even with the new expansion pack I didn't really feel that caught by it, so I think it's time to try something new. I don't really have any specific requirements, only requirement is that I don't have to spend a dime on trying it. It doesn't matter wether it's F2P or P2P, as long as there is a free trial for me to try out first. And I already own Guild Wars, so no need to propose that ^^ I did try Warhammer, Lotro and Age of Conan, but it's quite some time ago. If any of you know if any of those games have improved, please let me know. That's about it.. Not that detailed, no so just fire away with them games! :) |

LOTR is now free to paly not sure if its improved never really got into it. Everquest 2 is also free to play and well worth a try. Conan has improved quite a bit and also has a free Trial. Eve online is always good if your into sci-fi and also has a free trial Darkfall is a bit more hardcore than your standard MMO and can take a lot of time to get your character upto a godo enough lvl.. but a lot easier than the pvp grind in conan. this also hasa free trial. |

EQ2X is probly the highest quality free MMO you will come across although their F2P model basically means you can't hit max lvl without paying $125 or somehting like that. LOTRO has improved greatly, the areas where people hit a wall have been toned down and the economy is fine even after a few years. Their F2P model is equally suspect, I don't think you can get far without paying in that either. -- |

I'll second the suggestion of LotRO. The new version, free or not, is much improved from the original release. If you're looking for something a little different, try out Vindictus. It's an Asian game, but it's more twitch-based than the traditional MMORPG, and it's VERY pretty. The cinematography is beautiful, and it borrows heavily from a few well-known movies for its visuals (the intro video is VERY reminiscent of the credits from 300). |

If your bored of WoW then I suggest you try something very different.. and the closest thing to different these days, whilst still being a full open world MMO, is Vanguard. Going to another theme park game will just result in you feeling the same.. bored. Vanguard is not easy like WoW.. and if you do fancy a spin on it after the trial.. a guild is recommended.. the world is so big that it can sometimes seem less populated than it really is. |

Originally posted by grimboj That isn't true at all.. you can hit max level 90 by purchasing the latest expansion and thats all.. you can get to level 80 without paying anything. If you simply upgrade to silver membership you can get enough storage/bag space and gold limits to see you through... Once you have seen it through you are in a very good position to decide whether or not you want to take part in endgame and subscribe (for access to better gear). You might have to make one or two purchases if you fussy about a specific race or class. But ultimately you can get to 80 without paying anything.. if you can handle a few minor limitations. |
