why wouldn't a guy want to watch an attractive female character run around and do his bidding? |

Not if I had the choice. I tend to rp off and on and can not think of one logical reason why I would want to be the girl. Guess it is a leftover from my D&D days of sitting around playing through campaigns it would just be extemely wrong to be sitting around a table of your buddies and rping a girl. |

I don't really get that. I'm going to assume you're a human male in RL...and If you can RP an elf, halfling, or orc, why can't you RP a girl? Sure it could be a bit more difficult sitting around a table playing D&D....but in an MMORPG, behind computer...it's much easier. You're not any of those races, yet you can make believe you are....as long as it's a male? |

You mean people that their minds are stucked i guess. It's a fantasy game and you can play what ever makes you have fun. |

If the only way that your friends can deal with a female in an RP situation is to giggle and make rude comments, it's time to get some more mature friends. There is NO miracle patch. 95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch. Hope is not a stategy. |

If I play I'l play a heavily armoured badass Warrior. A women ain't gonna cut... character needs to look more then a skinny 150lbs character. For stealth type of classes I do occasionaly play female characters because it fits imo. |

That's gay. If you are gay then good for you. A player's avatar is supposed to be an extension of the player, like a representation of the player's persona in the game world. If you play a female character as a guy, you are saying you want to be a girl. this is a good example of a guy that would play a girl in a game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mahUWz31Xak |

Originally posted by Vanskills I guess you haven't heard of some of the other things gay people do. Men having sex with other men is about as gay as it gets. Playing a female character is nothing. |

I've played female characters in some games because I couldn't stand to be represented by that particular game's male avatars, but I don't think I've played a female character in about seven years, probably because the steady increase in character customization has greatly increased the probability of me being able to craft an avatar I'm comfortable being represented by. |

Originally posted by bonobotheory It is something. It is a sign that you might want to search your soul and ask yourself if you are maybe a little gay if you play a female character. I mean we are talking about a minimum of 50 hours playing a character in a game like this. That is a long time running around in the skin of a woman. You might want to think about comming out of the closet if you haven't already. |

Originally posted by Karble Do I also need to search my soul and ask myself if maybe I'm a little bit Orc, Troll, Paladin, Mage, Jedi, Hobbit, Dwarf, or Superhero? Yeah, I'm about as gay as I am orc. It's a video game. It's not real. |

Originally posted by GTwander If a game has no choice for you to choose anything about your character, the game itself is 100% different than what has been discussed here. I agree that in those games like Tomb Raider, or Mirrors Edge....you play whatever it gives you and if the game is good you can see past that detail. It is when you literally have the choice of many different looks and types and you knowingly choose a woman that you have crossed an invisible line...one which might make you a little gay. |
