Originally posted by Ikeda Sorry, I am not really part of this thread but I want to mention that i agree with you on one aspect. It is obvious that you like the game. I went through the same hassles when STO was released. However, the problem I see with you talking about getting modded is your attitude. Telling people to GTFO and to get over themselves. its not the right way to defend your game. Nobody can blame you for being mad at others that are trashing the game, and for the record, I dont feel I am trashing the game, There are things I dont like about it and I fully admit that its me that doesn't like it, but you really need to lower the adversarial attitude. Anyways, hope you enjoy the game. If your only defense for trolling or hatred is a stupid tag line, Then you should quit life. |

For years I have been arguing with people about the so called "end game content" in MMO's and here is the thing. There is no such thing when a game is continued to be supported and they have updates. The term you all are looking for is "high level content". The term "end game content" would refer to the game being ended when you reach say lvl 30 and there is nothing else after that meaning you just beat the game.
Only MMO I can think of that has "end game" is GW and that's because you beat the game. You can play back through and go through the same content but that is it once you beat the end of the game say Prophecies then you can either get the next game or just pick up another entirely differrent game. Actually, it probably comes from chess, where the "end game" is a distinct portion of play, and doesn't mean checkmate. You're still making your moves, in the end game. |

I wish it had 8 slots instead of 6. 6 feels kinda limited, and those extra 2 powers would make a nice difference imo... I'd rather they put the potions/trinkets on the digital pad.
Regardless though, its not that big of a deal. |

Well they explained it as it gives you a chance to play under all the different mentors which right now are only 6. You can delete a character and start from scratch, but if that isn't what most are looking for then they might be turned off from the game by limiting them to 6 slots. They add new content rinse and repeat. New games are now starting to add achievements to give people something to work on while they are doing the same stuff over and over. |

Originally posted by Clyptso See the problem is no one wants to hear that. Most think that since a game is new they have solved the problem by adding in a whole new game for them to play once they reach the max level or have done all the content to get there. If this was true, you would'nt have MILLIONS playing WoW for as long as they do/did. The community never cried about games being 'dumbed down'. Gamer elitists and nerds did.
People who post on gaming forums don't really direct the market and what games will be developed as. That's for casuals to do with their pocketbooks for the most part while we give lip service that companies learn to ignore as a matter of course. |

Who did wrong? The advertiser hired to sell the game or the consumer who put faith in advertising? |

I didn't take it as him being mad just that he thought what you said was argumentative. The exchange I thought fair as you admit your commit was overly general, although I disagree that it was spliting hairs. He was simply responding to what you wrote; accusing him of spliting hairsassumes he should of interpreted what you meant and not what you said. |

Thank you and exactly. Pretty juvenile for anyone to get mad in internet arguments over someone else's opinion. |

Combo moves, 6 skills... yea that sounds very consolely - probably this thing was designed for consoles first and ported to PC as an afterthought. Granted GW also had a limited amount of skills active, so you had to plan ahead and choose the right ones. ---- |
