First off, let me say LOTRO is my all time favorite MMO, and i've played alot of others. But to be honest, we alle know (even you!), that every game (maybe even everything in life) we love, have some flaws / missing something. So i encourage all to come with their 3 things they would change about LOTRO or just something you would like to add. Just for fun, and just to get some semi-positive (Semi because its something we would change/add) talk about LOTRO on this forum.
My list : 1. Make world PVMP Yep world, as in a nasty human controlled ogre could attack you while questing in Lone Lands. Of course this is something not everyone would like, and sure they should be pve and pvp servers. A more realistic add, would be some sort of BG or Arena. Sometimes i just miss some good pvp action, and thats not possible if im alone, or only got like 30 min. I mean, you dont enter Etten on your own, and a raid often takes a couple of hours. 2. Remove radiance And this step is even being taken care of as i write. I think its gonna be a major change, for the better. And im not the only one, as this has been a big discussion topic the for quite some time now 3. Gives us flying mounts Yes i know, some would think its a WoW thing, but lore-wise its not even impossible. I mean, Gandalf do fly on some bird in the books, so why shouldnt some of us being able to? I think it could be a great fun, and really something to strive for. But this should only be for the hardcore gamers/raiders, so not everyone would have their flying mount.
That was my top 3, and maybe you dont agree with them, well then you go ahead and make your own list ;) |

Originally posted by kaa4ever So my list is a bit more realistic: 1. Finish the scaling instances project, there are still many classics that do not scale. 2. Improve the character models and animation, it is one of the most common cited reasons people bring up when saying why they didn't get into LotRO. 3. Redo all the traits, traitlines, LI boni and the virtue system(which stops scaling at level 50). There are many nonsensical traits, or traitlines that are plain broken or so bad nobody would ever use them for any reason. All playstyles should be valid and have their place if offered by the game, all traits and LI boni should be useful and valuable, subject to the situation instead of having several that are just plain bad no matter how you look at it. |

1. Herd the f2p freeloaders onto their own servers. (Please, no flaming on how their money helps we VIPs. I understand that. But, if I see one more level 65 in Moria still running around in Fem armor and jewelry (level 40ish gear), I may just throw up.) 2. Add a dungeon finder tool so people can quickly locate others who want to do the same instances they do. 3. Add quick travel routes in Moria to Orc-watch and Anazermkham (sp?) I use skooma so that I can work harder and longer and make more money so I can buy more skooma. I don't see a problem. |

1. Have never gone F2P 2. Remove radiance 3. More content, more dynamic and interactive content; Things to do, not more levels |

Originally posted by kaa4ever Well, it's a good thread and far be it to counter some of your preferences but I will mention...
1, you would change the game from lord of the rings to generic fantasy game with world pvp, completely disregarding anything about the world and the story that tolkien wrote. 2, they are removing radiance 3, Gandalf didn't ride on a giant bird that was a mount. I think you might want to read a bit more brother. Stil it's your opionion and you are welcome to it.
You can feel free to comment on mine...
1, change the art design of all avatars and all gear to something a bit less "fantastical". 2, A slightly more open world like Vanguard where I can go in any cave I see regardless of whether I'm on the quest. 3, More of a feeling of "lord of the rings" as opposed to me feeling that this game has a bit of a generic fantasy game feel at times. |

1. F2P on their own servers or likewise, servers that can't have F2P 2. Speed up combat - not the fight itself but the animations and flashiness....just make it more exciting 3. Work on animations - characters seems like that have a stick up their....well, you know. 4. Make the game more LOTR-esque 5. Bring back Middle Earth Online (gee its a wish right?) |

1] Allow more customization in the player housing. If I had my way, player housing would combine the best of EQII and UO player housing.
2] Remove the instancing in Bree while eliminating the lag. (Hey, it's a wish list)
3] Add more hobbies. Fishing was great, let's have some more. UO-EQ-L2-EQ2-VG-WoW-DDO-GW-AoC-LoTR-WAR-Aion |

1. A new LFG tool that everyone would use! 2. Revamped housing to make i more fun and usefull. 3. PvMP skirmishes.
I am probably one of few who are worried about removing radiance and want them to keep it. If WoW = The Beatles |

Pretty much the same as the OP.
1. PVP servers with open world PVP 2. Remove radiance 3. The forces of Sauron as a playable race 1-65
That would get me back to playing it |

1) A new class system. The class system as it is is boring and overly handheld and it feels very anti-climatic at the higher levels. 2) Get rid of the focus on repetitive content. 3) Less focus on the damn LotRO store and more focus on content updates. More than a year between mini-expansions? Pathetic. They may call Isengard a full blown expansion, but I wager it will come off more like a mini-expansion. And the measely +5 level cap raise after more than a year is going to be lame. |

1. Better housing options, get rid of the hooks and just allow free placing of items. X number of items placed per house size. 2. More kin related goodies. Make more to the leveling process, better rewards, guild mounts, custom guild clothing etc 3. More hobbies
No to the world PvP, it doesnt even make sense. The majority of Sauron's fordes have no free will, so playing one just doesnt make any sense. Turbine did not even want PvP to begin with, the PvMP was just to appease those who begged for it, and we can see how much they have updated it over the years. And god no to flying mounts. The Eagles arent mounts, they are highly intelligent beings, highly powerful, ancient beings who only ALLOWED Gandalf and CO. to ride on them, also mainly because of what Gandalf is. If a normal person walked up to them and said "hey, let me ride you" I doubt it would go over very well. |

1) Revamped housing. I want to put things where I want to put them. Don't give me a "slot"...ugh.
2) FIX THE PUDDING HAIR. It's the worst. I've gotten used to the animations, but still hate the pudding hair. I hate to wear helmets or hats because some of them are even worse. Give me some animation in my hair.
3) Revamp of LI and get rid of radiance gating. (which is already in the works)
And just as a P.S.: Never, ever put PvP in my PvE world. Thank you. |

1) Character models 2) A real caster ( No, I dont care that there were only 3 or w/e number of wizards) 3) A little more flashy combat
Overall the rest of the game was and Is great but i can't get past the second 2 to even play the game. I like playing casters so right off the bat the game ended up beinga turnoff by having to play classes i would rather not. Like I said though, nice game ... I didn't QQ, just left. I know most of it was because of lore but sometitme you have to ignore some lore to make a game more fun. |
