I have only stuck with one game for more than a month or two in the last two years. I picked up LotRO when it started F2P, and now I'm happily subbed and enjoying it. At least, I was until I got to Moria... But either way, LotRO is the big winner this year. Important facts: |

Reason guild wars is split into 3 is so it can't beat wow. my pick for this year is lotro. Next year how ever it will be Guild Wars 2 worst mmo of the year is as allways wow. Top 3 MMO's PRE-CU SWG GW1 Lotro Worst 2 wow and eve |

WoW It's fun. It doesn't feel like work and it's not horridly monotonous. EvE is both of these. Lotro maybe, but it just got boring too quickly. |

\What a shitty list, why the hell would you put any game on the list when you know the player base is less then 1000 not a chance in hell they ever be top voted for. then the whole expansion list for some games, why are all the everquest expansions not on the list, or the swg expansions while other games have seperated counts for expansions, (GW, CoH) Only named EQ and swg but there are tons of games on this list that have or had "have to pay" expansions some are free now , some still gota be paid for.
looks like a cheap copy/paste of your list.. |

Been playing LoTro daily for 3 years now, not seeing an end in sight. I am not interested in any other game, at all. Huge Tolkien fan and quite happy with the world Turbine has brought into my life. No question about it....... |

Is there a game without money? That's why I left Eve and WOW and they got boring. I'm running LOTRO now. I don't mean just real money. I'm looking for a game that is not reinforcing the money paradigm - the exact opposite of Entropia. Second Life could have went that way but some demon decided to turn creativity into profits - one day someone will hear this. I'm finding the parallels in RL too haha money is not intrinsic to a working social model. The best game of 2011 has to be a paradigm shifting event. No violence or money - but a society of creatives boosting the value of the game. It's there already we just have to enforce it. We are the driving force - remember that. I'm not voting until I see that. |

world of warcraft
the one game that shows the industry how to innovate and keep millions of customers happy.

I went with EVE Online: Best Sandbox game imho.
It was a close call between it and World of Warcraft: which is probably the best Theme Park Game. Frank 'Spankybus' Mignone |

Ugh. I was so unimpressed with anything out this year I'm not even interested in voting for this list. The only thing I ~might~ consider voting for is Guild Wars, but the game is far too past its prime to qualify for a "game of the year" award, IMO. It's one of the better options for sure, but that's largely because the rest of the options come up short. Next year can't get here fast enough....sigh.

I agree with cerebrix about "keeping millions of customers happy" but smh at everything else. Y'guys, use your BRAINS. They're not a pool of gray mush that resemble your latest reincarnation of mashed potato. Forums: The best real-time interactive MMORPG you'll ever be in. |

Fallen Earth. At the moment it's just the only game that keeps me even remotely interested. It has just been one of the worst years for MMO's really. There wasn't really any game that stoot out. So if there was a none of the above. I would have voted that. |

Originally posted by bisurge Haha, love Eve, love GW but have you noticed how similar GW2 is to Eve? They are very similar polar opposites. A weird concession to make but I stand by it. Think about it; W v W v W is like nullsec pvp, GvG and RA is like lowsec pvp, Dynamic Events is like Exploration(Wormholes, DED sites etc) in eve and Personal Story is a better version of missions in Eve. Funny that. This is not a game. |
