Chances are that your account probably got hijacked and whoever hijacked it had some sort of payment problems running your acount.

Great so they let me buy the expansion on Digital download and play the 7 day come back thing, then decide to tell me this now on the day it goes live in the EU.....

yeah the account security at blizzard is a joke. I saw the deal for the cheap expansions (last time i played was during the burning crusade). So i go to my account in WoW and it says i have been banned for suspicious activity. In the last year i have reset my pw 3 times due to my account being "hacked" yet it has not been on my comp installed for almost 2 years, and i have wiped my HD numerous times since then.

Thus far I have played since release and have never had my account hacked. So to the above poster, it's not the security that sucks it's the players who can't keep their PC clean or use passwords like 123 and tell it to everybody they know.

sorry but its neither for me. For one..i havent tried to log on in almost 2 years. Secondly, it has never been installed (and still hasnt) on this hard drive. Third...no i dont use easy passwords...i have 6 other mmos i have installed on my comp..not one has ever been compromised. Lastly....this is the 4th time in the last year. everytime my password has been changed. Kinda hard for me to be hacked on my end when the software, logon, or anything has never been on this HD.

Same thing happen to me about three or so years back, I got an email saying my account has been ban for activities I did. The things is I had not touched WoW in forever. To make long story short Blizzard support and they way they want you to unlock got me so fed up I told them to just keep the damn thing locked.

I doubt I will buy WoW again because they can't keep their accounts secure not to mention blizzards ego has grown so large its annoying.

Are you serious? You havn't played for about 5 years...get over it.

It is often the users fault but not every time. Often do they get phising mails saying the account is hacked and are being asked to log in to a web page with it or something similar, or they have a trojan that hijack the key.

Malware installed in public computers is also common.

There are however many cases that isn't so easily explained , it is possible that one or 2 dishonest persons have worked at Blizzard or someone been able to hack some accounts.

One thing is clear: there is a lot of money in stealing Wow accounts and that have gotten many people working on doing so, and some are really good at it. Just blaming the victim isn't always fair.

OP: Blizzard is usually helpful in cases like this, call their support and explain the problem.  Chances are that they have to recreate your characters as well, some hackers delete them.

Their service is horrible, been waiting on the phone for an hour cause apparently their webform is like 2 weeks wait. People complain about SOE but they always helped me within 30 mins. Frigging can't even play on the same day as everyone else, by the time I get my account back it;ll be like a month and the zones will be dead again. 

I bought the expansion and played the 7 day thing and then it came to resub and I can't.... WHY THE FUCK DID THEY LET ME BUY THE EXPANSION THEN?

Apparently my account was hacked in may 2009 and they locked payments since then lol.... weird that they let me play the game on the comebacks and buy an expansion. What's weird is it's been locked to my battle.net and I don't even have the email address it's attached to anymore.

I said "will it take long to sort out" and they said "yes just putting you on hold".... wtf?
