WoW looks fine on max settings (with a few custom cvar tweaks to push it past in-game max). The people who bitch about WoW's graphics are the same people who think a 6800GT is still an acceptable gaming card. |

Originally posted by SeriphinX Yup it is the same as when WOTLK first came out. Shattrath (the main city from BC) use to be like New York before WOTLK and turned into a ghost town after WOTLK. This is how it is going to be from 61-78 (probably be able to experience new content at 78 or 79 instead of waiting till 80) since these leveling zones are now outdated and will not have very many active players at one time. |

People will fanboi or be haters on wow no matter what everyone says. You should all just resume it in a few words per post and dont give a fly fook about what others say. Im happy with the changes coming. Looking for class/combo and new leveling experience after 6 years.
Cheers to any wow players. Hope we can play tonight. |

Originally posted by newbinator Not sure that's totally true. DDO did a live player event (2? 3? years ago) that ended with the Marketplace (part of a zone) being destroyed which did change NPC locations etc.... and gave the game area a new look until they finally 'rebuilt' it this year. Not up on all the WoW zones but was under the impression they only blasted part of them. I'll give you it is a big change. Good for them at finding an interesting way to revamp zones and keep it interesting. |

I have played WoW for about 5yrs now. A few months of off, but most of the time full force. Though the world being remade has intrigued me, I have recently decided to cancel my account. For the most part they are adding a new shine to an aging game. There is not much that draws me back to re-play old content. Sure I would love to check out the geographical changes, but that would be maybe 1 month sub. 2 at the most. The one big reason I ever stayed with WoW is because it was and is one of the best games in stability and performance. That may all change with a few new ones coming out. Time to cut the cord and explore for this old time gamer. Blank-man |

You people who sit here and complain and whine, are quite frankly pathetic. You get a SLEW of new zones, new races, a good amount of starting dungeons ontop of a new world to explore and take part in. Not to mention blizzard stated clearly that this expansion isn 't about the levels, its just a little boost to put in a few new abilities and make them a little strong. G oing from gear with +200 stats, to INSTANT epics of 400/500+ Would be stupid. 40$ Digital purchase for all that, Well worth it IMO. QQ less, you'll all keep playing it like little crack addicts.
Nuff said. |

Originally posted by Dreadblade I think Blizzard is pretty smart in refining the 1-60 levels for two reasons... 1) They know there is a pretty good chance this game could still be a cash cow for them for at least another decade (yeah seriously) and a lot of those players are just like me, casual gamers who take months or years to hit lvl 85 (so sue me for having a life). If they make the leveling process more fun and varied, it will keep any new and casual players coming back month after month and keep thier coffers full. 2) With the addition of thousands of new quests you won't be able to complete them all in one time through and there are two types of gamers (well, ok, probably more but for my example it's 2), those who only enjoy content once and those who can enjoy it repetedly. The game already has a lot for those who can enjoy the repedetive stuff like Professions, Raids and BG's. But now for those that just want to do the next new quest, they can start a second or third character and still never run out of new quests to work on as they level. Well, my two points are probably just variations of a single point but... well.. you get the point ;) |

I'm guessing they will soon release a compilation pack for the shelves which include original and first two expansions to try and narrow down the 'WTF I bought Cataclysm and cant play it' crowd. |

Wow 2 wouldn't be using a 7 year old graphic engine. |

Don't expect great artwork from a coder. It just doesn't happen. |

I find it sort of shocking in a positive way and yet disheartening in another.
TBC always felt to me as a non-contiguous expansion, done in a way that being different didn't affect the main game (aka Classic or Vanilla). WOTLK was sort of the same and although full of eye candy (a positive) and gimmick quests (a negative) it didn't change the main game.
Now here is CATA, and main game is changed. I'm sure the people it targets will love it. I'm sure the dedicated fans will love it. But for me... bleh... I hope they didn't trash my favorite dungeons. Currently in development Wizards and Champions (formerly ActionMMORPG) |

The people here that are crying the loudest are the ones still playing. I should know, I was one of em when they hacked down the talents. But you gotta give credit where credit is due: blizzard pulled off a massive undertaking quite well. Whats funny is after all the trash talk on blizz, i still expected a quality game and in the end thats what they are delivering. May not be my style or preference anymore, but its still a very well made game. |

Well since I've stopped playing long ago, asked a girlfriend of mine about her beta views and she said well there isn't much freedom anymore. You are restricted to 31 talents in one tree, quests while entertaining are very linearic and you can do the whole expansion in almost 14 hours (80 - 85). Also looks like that everyone will be "questing" the same zones come Cataclysm since Blizzard has only added a total of 5 new zones and dramatically increased level space. Cataclysm doesn[object Window]t look like a real expansion more like some sort of redoing old content. What I don[object Window]t get is why is Blizzard destroying former great dungeons such as Maraudon, Blackrock Cavern, Forgottem Temple ?! (look at the Blizz 2010 dungeons and raids panel if you don't know what I'm talking about). Blizzard should be aware of the following: faster leveling = less time to deliver quality highend content and people will become bored even faster. The new Orgrimmar to me looks heavily overpopulated since Blizz is eager reducing the game to just two capital cities (one for horde and one for alliance), which just doesn[object Window]t fit well with the lore. I mean Orcs and Tauren don[object Window]t like each other so why share the same city?! They should have done what they did with BC and Wotlk creating a seperated [object Window]new Azeroth[object Window] so the people that prefer Classic would still have their game, others would be playing the [object Window]new Azeroth just on different clusters = way better option if you ask me. but after all only time will tell if its the beginning of the end or a rebirth. For the sake of our genre I[object Window]m hoping its the first one. Always thought Emerald Dream would have been the better option here but anyway. |

Logged into WoW today and was impressed with much of the new zones, but my framerate was literally cut in half. |
